The most interesting items in my opinion are the frames and the ring, both of which require an invitation to order. Wearable tech like this is the future, but so far nobody has really been able to perfect it. I don’t think these solutions from Amazon are the answer either, but it will be interesting to see if they gain traction or not. I do like the Echo Dot with the time on it, this will most likely replace my current clock whenever that dies. That being said paying for an echo dot seems silly as they are so frequently given away for free. All in all I wouldn’t recommend paying list price for any of these items as they will almost certainly go on sale before black friday/Christmas sales kick in.
Looking forward to having the footage of my new indoor Ring cam freely available to the local police department!
Our new Ring doorbell (7.2017) installed weekend before daughter’s car was broken into for BT transmitter. Used to prosecute 1 felony and 14 misdemeanors.
It was a fluke that I installed it -more thought it was cool tech – than for crime issues, had one car prowl in 22 years (we’ve locked our cars since). Never had a problem with porch pirates etc.
Almost didn’t call police ( thought they didn’t bother with minor dollar crimes $12 Amazon BT transmitter). But detective showed up 30 minutes later and was impressed about the quality ( Ring was fairly new on market and we were early adopters).
But it was HS kids from another part of city on a vandalism and crime spree (stole car) – but it tied them to crimes at transit center with HD cam’s as well as all the cars they just in neighborhood
But Echo basically collect dust in their boxes, always listening creeps me out, prefer the push button option of remote or button on phone.
Coolest thing was answering a door to door solicitor when we were eating breakfast on the other side of the world – sorry we are eating right, thank you for your time.
That said may round out our camera’s outside but have Security system for inside, just because we are out of town more as well as peace of mind and security with our HS/college aged daughter’s.
If we still had rug rats and hired babysitter might want a few inside cams so that Momma could be reassured and check on her babies. Lol. Otherwise a bit to creepy – to have inside cams.
Amazon: Put us in your bedroom! Put us in your car! Put us in the batthroom when you’re taking a dump! Put us in your pantry! Put us in your garage!
People: Okay! Okay! Okay! Okay! Okay!
Wait till BF/Cyber Monday and they’ll go on sale.
How many pieces of spy devices one would like to wear?
I had an echo for a few years now, It is nice, but is it a must-have? Not really.
But it does earn you funny looks when you wear it on your head as you walk down the street.
+1. Truly nothing much new except the Frames. Still i dont want one.
I wonder how you get an invitation?
I’m guessing everybody who is a Prime member get ones?
Go to the item page and click the yellow “Request an Invitation” button.
Super exclusive 😛
Amazing. An online book store had come so far and old tech giants are withering away.
