The Offer

Direct link to offer (our affiliate link)

  • Amazon is offering a $5 eBook credit when you spend $20 or more on eBooks

The Fine Print

  • To receive a promotional credit, you must (1) activate the offer and (2) purchase the specified amount on any Kindle eBooks by 11:59 PM (PDT) on May 27, 2019. You will then receive a promotional credit, and this credit will be automatically applied to your next Kindle eBook purchase. Any Kindle eBook sold on Amazon.com is eligible for this credit.
  • Promotional credit expires 30 days after it is applied to your account.

Our Verdict

I much prefer the version of this offer where it’s for physical books instead of eBooks. I usually just borrow my eBooks from a library, whereas I’ll often purchase physical books as gifts. Still a useful deal for anybody that purchases eBooks.

Thank you again DOC! Great timing as I was just reading a series. I got the credit immediately after hitting the spend and used it right away!

Just finished this and got the promo credit email about 10 minutes after my purchases went over $20. The $5 promo credit expires in 30 days, which is kind of a bummer.

Not only it’s cumulative but it uses full e-book price to calculate the total. This means you can use existing e-book promo credits. For example, book’s full price is $14, you have credits for $10, you pay $4 out of pocket, $14 goes towards total for this promotion.

What does this have to do with credit

This must be cumulative, right, since you can’t have a ‘cart’ of ebooks?

This is good timing for me as I just decided to spend some Christmas money on a few ebooks that my library doesn’t have.

Yeah, last time they put a $15 constraint on my purchases, I bought the Game of Thrones box set. Though it’s possible if you can turn off one-click settings (I didn’t try), that you can get more than one ebook.

From the FAQ on the link: “Eligible customers receive $5 in eBook credit after spending $20 on Kindle eBooks between May 21 and May 27, 2019 (in one or multiple transactions). You must activate your offer by clicking “Activate Now” during the offer period in order for your purchases to count.”
