American Express has launched a new business credit card called the Blue Business Plus Credit Card. The card earns at the following rates:
- 2x Membership Rewards points on all purchases for the first $50,000 per calendar year
- 1x Membership Rewards points on all other purchases
The card also comes with no sign up bonus and no annual fee. This makes it the highest membership rewards points earner for all purchases (previously this went to the American Express Everyday Preferred with up to 1.5x points on all purchases).
The downside to the card is the obvious lack of any sign up bonus, personally that’s a deal breaker for me. If you spend the full $50,000 in the first year you’d be earning an additional 25,000 points compared to the Everyday Preferred card. Considering American Express restricts you to one bonus per lifetime my suggestion would be to wait until a sign up bonus inevitably comes along for this card.
Update
Most of the public signup links on the Amex site don’t have any signup bonus. A reader found a Direct Link with a 20,000 points signup bonus, and we’ve added that to this post. Affiliate channels also have a 20,000 MR signup bonus offer after spending $3k.
