Update 8/14/19: Reader Sam got an email today acknowledging the error and indicating it’s been fixed. Indeed their points are now showing. I assume this issue is now been fixed for everyone. (Update: not for everyone, apparently.)
[Update 6/18/19: According to reports on Milestomemories and r/churning, this issue has been fixed. Credit for missing months has NOT YET been resolved, but going forward, any statement closing should get the proper points awarded.]
Reader Bob reached out about an issue affecting the new American Express Business Gold card where the bonus points categories are not posting properly. The card offers 4x bonus points on your two top categories – out of a list of 6 – each month, and the bonus 3x has not been posting as it should for statements closing since late April.
As is well known, American Express rewards are delayed one month, with the points posting when the following month’s statement closes. Since the end of April, statements closing have not been showing the bonus points from the prior month as it’s supposed to.
You can read some discussion about this on this Flyertalk thread. Apparently, Amex is aware of the issue, but it hasn’t yet been fixed. I imagine it’s just a matter of time, but regardless it’s worth the headsup.
