The Fine Print
- Offer valid for services provided in CA, NY, NJ and IL only.
- Valid for bill payments for cable and satellite television services made directly with the provider. Payments can be made directly with the provider online, via mobile app, by phone, or by mail.
- Payments for hardware and installation services, if included on the monthly service bill, are included. Payments made at service centers do not qualify.
- Excludes payments for satellite radio services.
Our Verdict
This is a pretty nice discount on cable. Since you can do each card twice and you can also enroll multiple cards using the multi-tab trick, you’ll be able to get a 20% discount on your cable bill for a while.
The terms sound like the $50+ has to be in one transaction. If your bill is less than $50, you can try overpaying the bill in $50 increments, which will prepay it for the next month, and this will trigger the offer.
Along these lines, a few days before 1/31/16, you can prepay the next few months (or however long you are comfortable with) of your cable bill and lock in the discount that way for the future.
If your bill is more than $50, you can make multiple payments of exactly $50 to maximize this offer.
