Apple 13-Inch MacBook Pro Battery Replacement Program for 2016-2017 Model

Apple has announced that a limited number of MacBook pro have an issue with the computer’s built-in battery and they are replacing it free. The issue affects some MacBook Pro’s which were manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017. It does NOT affect any MacBook which has a Touch Bar.

Check if your Mac is affected by entering the serial number here. Find the serial number by going to the Apple icon in the top-left corner and selecting ‘About this Mac’.

Repair options include going to an Apple retailer store, mailing it in to Apple, or going to an authorized service provider. The Apple mail-in option is very efficient, by the way; the whole process is typically just a few days with overnight shipping and super fast repair service.

There’s also a cheap iPhone battery replacement program going on this year as well.
