The Fine Print

  • Varies by deal

Our Verdict

It’s annoying because I can’t seem to find the fine print for each deal. For example I suspect with the Hotels.com deal you won’t earn Hotels.com rewards (free night every 10 nights) when using this promotion (update: Full terms here. You don’t get the reward nights). That basically makes the promotion useless (read our full guide to stacking Hotels.com deals here). Groupon deal is worthless as well because they are almost offering this discount or bigger. Some of the other deals might be useful to some readers, if you end up using any then let us know. We also have a dedicated post for the GrubHub/Seamless deal as we originally thought that was targeted.

If you want to use the Groupon deal, you need to enter code Apple20 to have the 20% off show up

Likely not however IMO, getting a straight 10% cash backnis way better than a free night certificate for the same amount

I suppose so. However, paying by a discounted gift card is by far more advantageous than hoping a portal bonus pays out. Since portals don’t pay out when you use a gift card, it is still better to get the 10% cash back and use a gift card that you got for 15% off.

The portal payouts have been lousy lately. 3-5% with very occasional spikes to 9%.

Doesn’t Hotels.com show you before booking if you will earn towards free nights or not? I don’t have Apple Pay so I can’t test.

Some details at the following link that I’d add to the main post! Most important is that you don’t get Rewards nights.

https://www.hotels.com/hotel-deals/appweek/

What you need to know:

– Set up Apple Pay if it’s not already set up
– Book on the iOS app by 11:59pm MT on Saturday, August 1, 2018, for check-in through November 1, 2018
– Enter the coupon code at checkout by clicking on “Apply a deal or discount”
– Select Apple Pay as your form of payment
– You can’t combine this offer with another discount code or collect Hotels.com® Rewards nights
