Haven’t had any issues booking hotel rooms for others in a variety of programs. I put both myself and the other person on the reservation.
The only airline with which I’ve booked tickets for people outside of my immediate family is BA, and it’s no problem there–unless, I suppose, you opt in to that family arrangement that lets you pool miles.
