Card Benefits

This card comes with three benefits, two are pretty self explanatory

  • Complimentary priority boarding when you show your card. As it states, show your card and get priority boarding for free.
  • One free beverage when you fly with Allegiant and show your card. Just show your card to either the gate agent or the flight attendant and you’ll receive a complimentary beverage upon ordering. Doesn’t seem to be any restrictions on what is considered a beverage.

The interesting benefit is the buy one get one airfare. Let’s take a look at that in some more detail

Buy One Get One Airfare

You can receive one round trip companion airfare for each purchased itinerary on Allegiant when you do the following:

  • Have a minimum of four night hotel stay or seven day car rental accompanying the flight purchase (this must be booked through myAllegiant Member Services)
  • Full itinerary must be purchased with the Allegiant World MasterCard
  • Primary cardholder must be a passenger on the itinerary
  • Companion airfare itinerary must match that of the primary cardholders and be booked at the same time through myAllegiant Member Services
  • You cannot do a point redemption for buy one, get one airfare
  • Cannot be applied to previously booked or flown airfares

Annoying that you need to call in to book this. It’ll also be of limited use as you need to book through Allegiant and by doing so you’re losing the ability to do any sort of price comparison and earn loyalty points. As most flights are relatively cheap, you’d likely be better off using something like Hotels.com (plus a portal) and just purchasing the extra flight outright.

Rewards Program

This card earns and allows you to redeem myAllegiant™ Points. It’s important to note that you can only earn these points from this credit card, the actual airline doesn’t have a loyalty program. Points expire after twelve months, but are automatically extended if you have at least one purchase on the card.

Earning Rewards

Standard Earning

This card earns at the following rates:

  • 3x points on Allegiant purchases (air, hotel, car rental and attractions)
  • 2x points on dining purchases
  • 1x points on all other purchases

It doesn’t really make any sense to put any spend on this card (other than for Allegiant purchases) as there are cards that earn at a higher rate on dining/restaurants and every day purchases.

Sign Up Bonus

Redeeming Your Rewards

Points can be redeemed starting at only 1 point. Every point is worth 1¢ and can be used for for all travel booked through Allegiant (e.g Flight, Hotel, Car).

Our Verdict

I don’t really see much value in this card, apparently Allegiant wanted to launch this card in an attempt to gain more data about the spending habits of their customers. If I wanted to do that, I would have avoided the $59 annual fee. The companion fare is nice, but it’s basically wiped out by the fact that you need to book hotels or car rentals through Allegiant. Something that is definitely going to be cheaper by using discounts and earning loyalty points. If you flew Allegiant often with a companion, then this card is probably worth considering if you can make use of that benefit. The free drink and priority boarding are fringe benefits at best.

For people looking for a decent sign up bonus, look elsewhere. It’s a bit surprising this launched with such a low bonus, considering the Asiana card is at 30,000 miles and Alaska is at 30,000 + $100. Although I guess this is more in line with the Spirit card and that has a 15,000 + $100 bonus. What are your thoughts on this card? Let me know in the comments.

I Love the Allegiant Card as I fly with them frequently. Direct Flights, and the Priority boarding let me get an overhead compartment for my carryon, right above me. The free drink is nice too. You used to be able to get a “Double” but they’ve cut that out now, and you only get a single. I have a $35,000 credit limit on it, which is helpful as well.

Allegiant recently came into our area and is the only discount carrier here, so I was eagerly awaiting this card. I’m not real impressed considering all the hoops you have to jump through to get a free companion ticket. Also no good earning categories like groceries or gas. I may eventually apply for one but I’m in no hurry.

“If you flew Allegiant often with a companion” you’ve got bigger issues than a credit card.

too many issues with this airline to even consider it. Lots of safety and maintenance issues with their aircraft. I’d definitely fly something else

Yes, Allegiant is a deathtrap worth avoiding at all costs. And I say that as someone who willingly flew ValuJet back in the day, even after the accident.

Does it have foreign transaction fees?
