William Charles PNC offering me $100 on $500 spend to use their otherwise worthless card 🙂 Email title “Good news – you can earn $100 bonus”, don’t think I’ve used it since the conversion from BBVA.
Note that the purchase period doesn’t start until tomorrow

1 The term “purchases” does not mean every transaction you make with your credit card. Some limited transactions, such as cash advance transactions (including the purchase of cash equivalent products) and balance transfers are excluded.

2 You will earn a $100 monetary credit on your statement after you have made $500 in purchases between January‌ 15, 2022‌ and March‌ 15, 2022‌ with your new PNC credit card. The bonus $100 monetary credit will be awarded to your account within 90 days after the purchase that enabled you to meet the $500 minimum requirement. Bonus offer limited to one $100 statement credit per customer.

Anyone receive their new card yet? I had bbva select and my pnc account shows new card but haven’t physically received it. My mail is not the fastest, but it is starting to be quite a bit of time since the 10th of October.

Haven’t received it, and I’ve already called 3 times, and every single time its “were experiencing some issues, but your card was sent this morning out”. I don’t understand why they make up stuff.

JF Thanks, very helpful to know someone else hasn’t received their card yet. I haven’t called or reached out as no time, but planning to do so at some point.

I got an automatic annual fee refund (prorated) as my BBVA card changed into a PNC card. Shows posted in the app  William Charles

As we all are aware BBVA is witching over to PNC. I have recent debit card. However I have a secured credit card with BBVA. I have not received a new PNC secured credit card for that bank. If they don’t honor it how do I get my funds back?

Witching? 🧙‍♀️ I know it’s October, but Halloween is a long way away.

I would recommend calling the number on the back of the card. I am sure they have a plan in place or can tell you what to expect & a timeline.

I would really really like to know if it makes sense to keep this rewards card 🤔.

Keep it or ditch it, the world isn’t going to stop turning. It’s still on your credit history. If you don’t see yourself using it other than a sock drawer item, and it’s a burden to have to put spend on it to keep it alive, ditch it. But only you can evaluate your creditworthiness… short of someone here seeing your credit reports.

My BBVA AMEX card is converting to Visa cash rewards card with new card number. Will it count as 5/24 if I activate? What if I don’t activate?

It shouldn’t count as a new card… but with such a big change, I would ditch it unless you really need it (carrying a balance, etc). If you close it, it still counts for credit history for many years.

I believe activation is irrelevant, as they already informed you of the intentions.

For the checking account do we have to keep it open for one year bec of the bonus terms or can we close it before PNC conversion in Oct?

I highly doubt they are going to catch that, but you do you. Nobody is going to give you a firm answer, and you either live by the terms or bail out and hope they don’t care.

When I am concerned there may be a fee, I usually start the request with “Assuming there is no fee, I would like to close my account” and see what they say. At least then I have some backup that the rep said there was no fee.

I wonder if they are going to grant the introductory 0% APR on purchases for those who applied for the clearpoints card within the last 9-10 months.

I messaged a CSR; here is the response:

“ We will be more than happy to assist you with the promotional APR inquiry.
We are glad to inform you that after the conversion to PNC, the promotional APR will remain active for the same period that it was set up for”.

Got a reply on the Annual Fee for a Select card due-to-be-charged-in-Sept:

“… We must inform you that the annual fee is assessed for the use the card has already had during this year. In this case, the annual fee will be assessed accordingly to the current credit card terms and conditions.”

So their plan is to charge the full $95 for Sept. And convert the card on Oct 8. And keep the whole $95.

Also, the BBVA ClearPoints card will convert to a PNC Points card, earning 4-PNC points on all purchases.

Current BBVA ClearPoints Rewards will be converted at the rate of 5-PNC Points for each BBVA Rewards point

Not having had any PNC cards, how are PNC points valued?

Pnc points are worth 0.2 cent each.

The card will be useless after conversion. The best action is to close all the BBVA accounts?
