Another update 7/12/22: The promotion now says Sold Out, however, some are having success when applying the promo code; we’ll have to wait and see what happens with that. Separately, those who did this deal are already getting their $12.50 credits which are valid now and continue to be valid through August 28th.
Update 7/12/22: Deal now live, just make sure the promo code applies properly as some people are having issues. Best luck seems to be by purchasing a new gift card (our affiliate link) as opposed to a reload, and to do it on the computer as opposed to the app. Tips to get it to work in this comment.

Amazon has a special reload offer beginning on Prime Day (July 12-13) for Prime members. This deal is not yet live, it’ll begin on Prime Day:
- Beginning on July 12am PDT, Prime members get $12.50 in promotional credit with a $50 Amazon Gift Card purchase or Amazon Reload when you use promo code EGCPRIME22.
There might be a promo code to get this offer, we’ll update when it becomes available. The $12.50 promotional credit will then be valid for the weeks after Prime Day, presumably.
Our Verdict
Last year they offer two $40/$10 Amazon gift card deals, one as a lead-up and one on Prime Day itself. For now it seems like they’re only doing the Prime Day offer this time, though it’s slightly better at $50/$12.50. The $12.50 credit will likely be valid for a few weeks after Prime Day. Use your Chase Amazon Prime card for 6% back on the purchase.
So far the generic deals have been pretty good, including this deal, the $20 Prime Day credit with Proctor & Gamble, and the $10 Stampcard offer. Hopefully there’ll be a few more generic deals still.
We’ll repost this gift card deal when it goes live on the 12th – this is always the most popular deal of Prime Day. Seems like this deal might be valid for household Prime members as well, but we’ll have to wait and see as they excluded household Prime for the other two deals.
