Alongside the refresh of the consumer Sapphire Reserve card on June 23, 2025, Chase is also launching a brand new Sapphire Reserve for Business product with a $795 annual fee. This will be a premium business card product, alongside the more basic INK line of cards.
The details of the business card are much the same as the Sapphire Reserve consumer card, with some notable differences.
Signup Bonus
The signup bonus details are yet unknown. There are rumors of a massive bonus on the consumer card for the launch on June 23, 2025, and I’d expect something similar for the business version.
Note: customers can sign up for both the consumer Sapphire Reserve and the Sapphire Reserve for Business. You can also sign up for the Sapphire Preferred card, and you can hold all three simultaneously. You can only have one of each card.
Card Details
- Both consumer and business Sapphire Reserve cards come with a $795 annual fee. The consumer version charges $195 for an authorized user card while the business version offers employee cards free. Note, however, employee business cards don’t get the lounge benefits that consumer authorized user cards get.
- Points earning are mostly the same with one notable exception: the consumer version earns 3x on Dining while the business version instead earns 3x on Online Advertising and 1x on Dining.
- Both business and consumer card come with the following benefits:
- $300 Travel Credit
- $500 The Edit credit ($250 each 6 months)
- Global Entry/ TSA Pre credit for $120
- DoorDash and Dashpass benefits
- $10 each month on Lyft, and 5x points per $1 earned on Lyft through 9/30/27
- Rental car insurance CDW coverage is primary; all the other regular Chase Sapphire Reserve travel protections as well
- Priority Pass, Sapphire Lounge access, along with two guests
- IHG Platinum Status
- The business version does not have the following benefits found on the consumer card:
- Apple TV+ and Apple Music
- Sapphire Reserve Tables $300 dining credit
- Stubhub $300 credit
- Peloton credit
- The business does have these addition credits:
- ZipRecruiter $400 per year ($200 each 6 months)
- Google Workspace $200 per year
- Giftcards.com $100 credit ($50 each 6 months) on gift card purchases made at giftcards.com/reservebusiness (not yet clear which gift cards will be available at that link)
- The business version also has similar top-tier perks for those who spend a lot of the card, though the spend required on the business card is $120,000 versus the $75,000 on the consumer card.
- $500 Southwest credit
- Southwest A-List status
- IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite Status
- $500 The Shops credit (better than the $250 on the consumer card)
Points Earning Details
Points earning details on the Sapphire Reserve for Business card:
- 8x points on Chase Travel purchases
- 4x points on direct flights and hotel bookings
- 3x on social media and search engine advertising
- 1x everywhere else (including on travel not included in the bonus categories above)
Our Verdict
When comparing this to the INK Preferred $95 card:
- the Sapphire card possibly has an unlimited 3x earn on advertising, versus the $150k limit on the INK Preferred
- Sapphire Reserve for Business also has the 8x and 4x travel categories, though the INK Preferred has the broader 3x earning rate on all Travel
- INK Preferred has the edge with 3x on Shipping and internet/phone
Overall, from a points-earning perspective, the Sapphire business card can make sense for someone with a huge amount of travel and advertising expenses. Otherwise, you wouldn’t spend $795 over the $95 price tag on INK Preferred.
The other factor, of course, is all of the benefits and credits that come with the Sapphire business card. Similar to the consumer Sapphire card, the $795 price tag can make sense for someone who finds these valuable. For example, someone who uses Google Workplace and ZipRecruiter regularly can find those credits, along with the $300 travel credit, makes it worth the $795 annual fee.
No business card is complete without a Stubhub credit. Chase seems to be targeting businesses that can put $120K+ on the card, with owners that are really sloppy with personal lifestyle splurging, with budget airline credit on the radar.
As a small business I hate booking through OTA like Chase Travel or whatever they want to call it. Not worth the hassle if a reservation falls through.
Nothing beats a 75k welcome offer, no annual fee, and 5% at Staples – Ink Cash all the way!
and 0% apr so you can potentially earn interest on the SUB spend
Any idea if it will by pass 5/24? sorry have to try lol
business card, doesn’t hit personal credit
Correct, but you will probably have to be under 5/24 to apply.
this is what Im looking currently 9/24 🙁
the 3x shipping is a big miss for me as we have way more spend in this category than online ad spent (small 6 team company)
Use a different card for shipping. That’s an easy thing to isolate.
No 50% bonus on points redemption?
You didn’t read the Sapphire Reserve update? That’s (mostly) going away.
Coupon books gonna coupon book. Hard pass
I am deeply disappointed, maybe even outraged, by this card’s offerings.
Upvote this comment if you are also deeply disappointed.
Anyone know if you can upgrade to the business reserve from the ink?
Why would you do that? Close the Ink card and keep on churning.
Holding out on the spending cap for this one, if it’s more than 150k, that 3% social/search ad category is massive.
not really, worthless category
