- Pay $1.99 for a pack of three empty Amazon gift cards with a birthday greeting card
- After you get the gift cards, load $10 or more on a card and get a $2 Amazon credit
If you load all three cards with $10, you’ll end up with $6 in Amazon credit, or $36 for $30. Deducting the $1.99 initial cost, you end up with $36 Amazon for $31.99.
This offer only works easily for Prime members who will get free shipping on the order. Others will have to meet $49 or pay for shipping.
The Fine Print
- Offer expires at 11:59 p.m. (PT) December 31, 2016
- Taxes, shipping and handling, and gift wrap charges do not apply when determining minimum purchase amount
- Minimum purchase amount must be for at least $10 loaded to the GC
- For qualifying purchases, a $2 promotional credit will be automatically applied to the Amazon customer account used to purchase the GCs after the qualifying order is completed
- You will receive an e-mail from Amazon that indicates the dollar amount of the promotional credit and that the credit has been added to your customer account; the e-mail will also provide instructions on how to redeem the promotional credit
- Promotional credit expires at 11:59 p.m. (PT) March 31, 2017
- Promotional credit applies only to eligible products sold by Amazon.com, Inc. and its affiliates and does not apply to products sold by third-party merchants through the Amazon.com site
- Savings from the promotional credit will be reflected on the final checkout page on qualifying orders.
- Each $2 promotional credit will be applied once per qualifying order
- Promotional credits (including those placed directly in accounts) may not be redeemed for Amazon.com Gift Cards
Our Verdict
Similar offers have been around over the past month.
It sounds like you have to add the $10 to the card before 12/31/16 in order to be eligible for the $2 bonus. Be sure to add those funds right away if you do this deal. Shipping is quick so there should still be time.
Too much effort for little gain, in my opinion, but to each their own. Might be a way to use-up/extend a small Amazon credit from a different deal.
Update: thanks to a reader for pointing out that the terms imply that you can’t use up all the $2 credits on a single order; it’s one per order.
