Amex has partnered with Newegg to be able to redeem MembershipRewards points directly on Newegg.com.
Unfortunately, the redemption rate just . 7¢ per point.
Here’s how to redeem points on newegg.com:
- Add your MembershipRewards-earning Amex card to your Newegg.com login
- Click “check points balance” to see your available points balance and the equivalent dollar value
- Enter the dollar amount of the points you would like applied and click “Apply to Order”
Newegg and Amex have already partnered to enable quick checkout using the Amex Express Checkout (remember that 🙂 ), and now they are partnering again to be able to redeem points seamlessly at checkout.
Amex also has partnered with Airbnb to be able to redeem points for .7¢ per point. Amazon and Bestbuy.com also partner with Amex for the same .7¢ redemption value.
Redeeming MembershipRewards points for .7¢ isn’t a great idea; if only they’d add more partnerships to be able to redeem for 1¢ per point it would be useful for those who have too many points to redeem for travel. They have a 1¢ per point redemption partnership available with Uber, as well as with McDonald’s.
Most people will get far better value when transferring to one of the American Express travel partners.

I don’t understand the point…
It’s more like .7 points
