Currently US Bank is the co-branded credit card issuer for the Colombian based airline Avianca. At the moment the cards are not available for new sign ups, I contacted US bank to find out why this was the case and received the following responses:
@Drofcredit The Lifemiles card is currently undergoing changes. Here are other options: https://t.co/yOC2zb19YG. Sorry for any hassle. ^kb

@Drofcredit I apologize, the only info we have is that we are not currently accepting new applications for this card type. ^at

The Avianca card is a relatively small co-branded card for US Bank according to their Q3 2015 data (via Seeking Alpha) they have 421,000 active credit cardholders.
I suspect that US Bank will continue to issue the Avianca card and they will make some minor changes to the benefit that this card comes with. We’ll post again when the Avianca card is available for sign ups again and what changes if any were made.Â
Thanks for covering it. Too bad the sign up bonus is so small on this card. I’d use those miles!
Hopefully that’s one of the changes they are making.
it goes up once in a while… i got 40k when i signed up. not sure what time of the year it was tho.
