Chase Adds $10 Monthly GoPuff Credit To All Cards (Delivery Service)

Update 12/23/21: $10 gift cards available again, but the terms say that gift card purchases aren’t eligible so I assume that they have fixed the coding on the Chase credit to not trigger on these gift card purchases.

Update 12/7/21: Looks like small denomination gift cards are being removed/OOS. Customer service reps are also stating that these purchases aren’t allowed and could lead to your account being locked.

Update 11/22/21: Seems to be working on gift card purchases.

Our Verdict

GoPuff is a delivery service for grocery/household goods. There is a $1.95 delivery fee. Looks like Swagbucks is offering $15 on your first order and that’s the best current portal offer.

Just wanted to provide a dp regarding those impacted by the dreaded bevmo coded purchases for gopuff orders. I am now seeing credits applying same day for bevmo purchases, so a fix must be in place now. I haven’t received credits for the prior month’s purchases before the fix went live, so confirming with chase if these purchases need to be further escalated to chase support. Additionally, gopuff FAM is a net money maker as the monthly subscription is 5.95 but the full $10 credit is being applied. For those with multiple chase cards, this is a no brainer credit that is easy to use.

Gift card? Or regular Gopuff order?

I can confirm this is working for Bevmo purchases. Looks like $10 credit is applied on orders less than $10 as well.

I live in California and I ordered food and alcohol from GoPuff on 1/18/2022. The $10 credit showed up on my account the same day as the charge posted, which was 1/19/2022. Seems like they fixed the issue with Bevmo.

I too haven’t received credits for the prior month’s purchases before the fix went live as well. Hopefully soon!

Has anyone purchased a gift card higher than $10? I’m wondering if I can purchase a $20 GC, use an existing $10 GC, and pay the rest with a Chase card, and that will be reimbursed? I know the $10 GC’s are coding differently now, but need to find out if all GC are coding this way.

You should see if you can pay for a gc with another gc.

Anyone know how to delete GC from shopping cart. I had a GC in the cart. App show item but do not present option to check/modify or delete. Any idea how to delete shopping cart and start new. Thanks.

Justin

I had to contact chat support and they put in a ticket with their backend people to delete it for me. Took a couple of attempts and several days after my 2nd attempt of waiting for them to do the actual deletion.

This gopuff site is pretty buggy.

I am in California and used an address in Arizona to place my $10 gopuff order today for a gift card. I used apple pay and the purchase on my chase statement shows as GOPUFFGC. Not sure if this will trigger the statement credit. Has anyone else had luck?

Jay

Terms: Apple Pay or any other 3rd party service provider will not trigger this credit. I also confirmed with Support as I learned this the hard way.

Anyone else have this issue? I used Apple Pay as well. Now just waiting…

On Jan 13 I purchased a gc with my Freedom directly (not via apple pay, etc.) with an address in New Mexico. It came across as GOPUFFGC, and I did not get the credit.

Can you get multiple $10 credits for one GoPuff account? I have 5 chase cards but don’t want to create 5 GoPuff accounts

Be careful with price differences! My order total was $10 but they charged me $10.04. Chase credited $10. On another order the total was $10, they charged me $9.99. Chase credited me $10. Both orders were food, no gift cards purchased but I did use gift cards/GoPuff credits.

fun

so what’s the problem here? Chase credited you both times

Careful everyone — check your cards for fraudulent transactions! I made some purchases at GoPuff using my Chase cards, and immediately after my purchases, I began seeing random charges from some company called “Beverages and More” that I clearly did not make a purchase from. Luckily, Chase sided with me, and the charges were refunded.

P.S. I am located in California, and fuck these guys.

P.P.S. I actually selected “dissatisfied with the merchant/transaction” as my reason for dispute and did not claim to not recognize the transaction.

P.P.P.S. I’m not suggesting this as a monthly habit, as filing lots of disputes is probably not very good for your relationship with Chase — I was clearing out my initial transactions from November, as I’m not wasting any more time tracking them and potentially missing the dispute window. Oh, and did I say fuck these guys?

Andy I think you almost overreacted.

I wrote my post all sarcastically/dramatically thinking I was funny (guess not), but in all seriousness, it was $20 ($10 x 2), and I was ready to move onto the next thing, so I did dispute 2 out of 4 charges.

The latter two I didn’t dispute because those cards required calling in (the first ones were submitted online and took two seconds). I’m writing the other $20 off as a loss.

I quite confident there will be no follow-up from GoPuff on the Bevmo charges. Could be wrong — guess we’ll see.

Andy

A) you must be really bad with sarcasm

B) Bevmo is gopuff’s part. These are not “fraudulent charges”. But yes, they are not triggering chase credit.

Jay

All purchases (GC and regular) before end of Nov coding as Bevmo still haven’t been credited. Chase says wait 1-2 cycles. But GCs listed as gopuff got credit 2 days later.
GC bought in early Jan listed as gopuff also just got credited.
The problem is that anything non-gc I buy is always coding as Bevmo. I don’t think I’ve seen any reports of Bevmo getting credited.

Diane
Diane

what city/state did you use for the gc purchases? strangely, it seems to depend on city whether or not it credits (in CA it shows up as Bevmo, even gc purchases).

Jay
Jay

I’m in CA and all purchases for CA address code as Bevmo. If I set the address to somewhere on the east coast, purchases code as gopuff and those are the ones that get credited.

@Jay for the GCs, what does it show up on your chase card? I tried and it shows as Food and Drinks whereas earlier it was showing as Groceries. No credits posted yet. Also, how long did it take for the credits to post? Was it more than 2 days? Thanks.

GC purchase & regular order on Jan 2 (2 different cards of course), regular order has been credited (same day on statement), GC has not. The GC purchase appears as GOPUFF and regular purchase appears as (GOPUFF) GB LICENSE. Maybe they did fix the bug. Keeping an eye on it for now.

Justin

If you (or anyone else) can look at your historical statements from November or December if you bought Gift cards then?

I look at all my chase cards and the $10 GC purchases all show up as the (GOPUFF) GB LICENSE on my statements and I got the credits back then.

I’m curious if the January gift card purchases are now currently coded differently (the “GOPUFF” only instead of the “(GOPUFF) GB LICENSE” language) or if they code the same as before.

Jason
Jason

Exactly right. They changed the coding in January.

Jason Did GC purchase credit ever since? Or is it confirmed no go?

Jason

The GC purchase I did on 01/02 did not credit. Not going to try again.
