Chase Launches DoorDash Credit Card – Free DashPass + $100 Cash Bonus

Chase has officially launched the DoorDash credit card. Unfortunately the value proposition of this new card isn’t very good, but let’s take a look.

  • $100 limited time bonus when you spend $500+ within the first three months
  • Free year of DashPass
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 4% cash back on DoorDash and Caviar orders
    • 3% cash back on dining
    • 2% cash back at grocery stores
    • 1% cash back on all other purchases
  • No annual fee

I can’t see any real reason why you would want to sign up for this card given the current rewards structure and sign up bonus.

From DoorDash’s website: https://doordash.news/consumer/everyday-spending-made-more-rewarding-chase-and-doordash-launch-first-ever-doordash-rewards-mastercard/
> DoorDash Rewards Mastercard cardmembers can extend their complimentary DashPass membership every anniversary year when they spend $10,000.
Just kick them out of the office right now.

I mean… is this surprising? This seems on par with the Instacart card from Chase. I have no idea what the target market of this card is… at least their Disney cards look cool. This is as bad as the Starbucks card.

I guess what this does mean is that Chase will continue to offer DoorDash as a perk on their cards now that they’ve inked a cobrand deal with them. Though to be honest, the smart move with DoorDash has always been buying gift cards at grocery stores, which let you hit the grocery category and often get you fuel points on top of that.

I would be embarrassed to have this card.
Free DashPass for only one year when other Chase cards gets you DashPass through 2024.

But they give you a great deal: rack up $10k spend on this card to get another free year of DashPass!!! then my $12 McDonald’s order will only be $20 after markups, delivery fees, service fees, and tip instead of $28! sign me up!

I’m pretty sure this marketing nails their target market – let’s be honest using doordash or this card is never a good financial move (unless you get some sweet coupon)

Many chase cards already get a free year of dashpass, just create a new doordash account. Don’t need a doordash credit card to get the free year of dashpass.

Came looking for this comment. Have had free dash pass with other chase cards since the beginning by deleting accounts and resigning up switching between my # and google voice #

I’m actually sad people in their marketing departments thinks this is okay. It’s like back in the days Walmart giving out a 2L coke for applying their credit card. Lol
