Chase & Lyft Partnership Extended Through 2027 (Added $10 Credit, Lower 5x Earn)

Chase and Lyft have partnered to offer various benefits over the past number of years, including increased point earnings and Lyft Pink membership. The partnership was slated to end on March 31, 2025.

It’s been announced an extension of the partnership which will be valid from April 1, 2025 through September 30, 2027. Changes include lower points earnings, but a new $10 monthly credit on the Sapphire Reserve card.

  • Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardholders get a new monthly $10 in-app credit (sounds like a coupon discount at checkout, not a statement credit on the card). The credit will not be valid ons Wait & Save rides, nor on bike or scooter rides. Cardholders will earn 5x points per dollar (total) on Lyft purchases. That’s down from the previous 10x earn. Also no Lyft PINK benefit (that ended long ago).
  • Sapphire Preferred cardholders will continue to earn 5x points per dollar (total) on Lyft rides.
  • Chase Freedom cardholders (all card varieties) will earn 2%/2x per dollar (total) on Lyft rides. That’s down from 5x.
  • Chase INK cardholders (all card varieties) will continue to earn 5%/5x per dollar (total) on Lyft rides.

Overall I’d say a net positive to get the $10 credit, though heavy Lyft spenders might have preferred the 10x rewards on Sapphire Reserve.

The jury is still out whether any of these credits and benefits actually save you any money since it’s possible their algorithm accounts for it and charges you more. Which makes for another nice thing about the $10 credit: if you take a low cost ride, you’re guaranteed to have saved something by having the Sapphire Reserve card.

Lyft does allow for money-add loads in the app with a minimum of $25. It’s possible you’ll be able to load up your Lyft with $25 and thus trigger the $10 credit that way. We’ll have to wait for confirmations on this.

Chase Peloton Partnership

The Chase & Peloton partnership has also been extended through December 31, 2027:

  • Sapphire Reserve Cardmembers will continue to earn 10x total points on eligible Peloton Bike, Tread and Row purchases over $150 with a max earn of 50,000 total points.
  • Sapphire Preferred Cardmembers will continue to earn 5x total points on eligible Peloton Bike, Tread and Row purchases over $150 with a max earn of 25,000 total points.

Anyone try to see if the $10 credit applies when purchasing Lyft Cash?

FYSA — Lyft Cash did not trigger a $10 credit.

Btw, I don’t see the coupon/discount while ordering a ride in the Lyft app.

This sucks. 99% of my Lyft usage is for work so I liked getting the 10x points for me. With the $10 credit, it just lowers the amount I can expense

Exactly. i’m surprised they rated this as net positive. I refuse to even look at Uber knowing Chase gets me 10% back from business trips. A ride to/from airport is easily $50-80 each which adds up quickly

It would have been nice if we can get Pink membership again.

I know they can’t account for everyone but I am tired of these rideshare credits when I live in a small town without rideshares. Totally useless having these on a monthly basis. If it were a larger amount for the year then they’d be more useful during travel.

I like the credit with my CSR if Lyft and Uber are the similar in prices. It seems Uber is always 25%+ cheaper than Lyft when looking for a ride.

Whatever happened to the story about Uber/Lyft getting sued or investigated for price gauging? I may be forgetting facts. That’s what has been etched in my thoughts when it comes to ride sharing.

Hmmm. I’m not a frequent user, but when in DC last summer, we used rideshares often, and Lyft was cheaper 75% of the time. FWIW.

Uber credits can be used for UberEats but unfortunately there’s no such thing as LyftEats.

They used to have these things called “taxis” that had a monopoly on the on-demand ride-hailing service and let me tell you the prices on those “taxis” were crazy high!

I used an airport taxi once. They are the real scammers. Uber was a steal by comparison. Never again

…and those ‘taxis’ could cheat you on long airport rides into the city from places like JKF, where the cabbie might not start the meter, but later tells you the fare is more than the actual fare.

Use public transportation from the airport to the hotel. It will take several hours instead of minutes. You can use you CSR travel credit for public transportation.

Hopefully Lyft is not like Uber and jack up the pricing whenever you have a credit.

in the last couple years, there were a few instances where Uber prices (even with points and discounts) were more expensive than the local non-yellow/white private cabs

@Eric this benefit has been around a long time thru MC. It’s a $5 Lyft credit after 3 rides in a month. 5x Chase stack is only available on the Freedom Flex (not the Freedom OGj since the other cards are Visa. Find it here: https://www.lyft.com/mastercard
