[Extended until 2025] Chase Cards Will Receive 5x or 10x on All Lyft Rides (CSR – 10x; Other Cards – 5x)

Update 4/1/22: The Sapphire Reserve 10x and Preferred 5x benefits have been extended through March 2025 (direct link). Nice! The Lyft Pink benefit on Sapphire Reserve seems to have ended. (ht WhatTheFishh)

Original Post 1/8/2020:

Lyft has announced that beginning January 12, 2020, many Chase cards will receive either 5x or 10x on all Lyft spend.

Direct Link to offer

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Freedom Student and Ink cardmembers will receive 5x total Ultimate Rewards points or 5% cash back on Lyft rides.
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers will earn 10x total points on Lyft rides. Plus, each account will get one free year of Lyft Pink.

These bonus rates will continue through March 2022. The wording indicates that the 5x is NOT in addition to regular rewards, it’s 5x/10x total. It also indicates that the Lyft Pink membership for Sapphire Reserve cardholders is a one-year benefit, not an ongoing benefit.

Benefits by card:

Chase Sapphire Reserve:

  • 10x total points on Lyft Rides

  • 1 year of complimentary Lyft Pink membership per account (business profile is not eligible)

Chase Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire, Ink Preferred, and Ink Plus:

  • 5x total points on Lyft Rides

Chase Freedom, Student, and Unlimited:

  • 5% total cash back on Lyft rides

Chase Ink, Cash, Business, and Unlimited:

  • 5% total cash back on Lyft rides

Chase also introduced a new Doordash benefit on the Reserve and other cards. We reported yesterday on all of the upcoming changes to the Sapphire Reserve which includes the fee increase from $450 to $550 and these Lyft and Doordash benefits.

Expired: Update 10/31/21: Most other Chase cards have now been added for this 5x/5% benefit on Lyft through March 31, 2022. Most of them have a $5,000 limit whereas the original Sapphire and Freedom cards (which have had this offer for more than a year) don’t have a limit. You can check your card at this link to see if it has the benefit.

This ‘extension to 2025 ‘ only applies to you if you are opening new Freedom or Sapphire card. It is not a good news if you already have these cards. I heard back from chase about why I didn’t get 5X points for my Lyft ride on 6th April. They said this was one year complimentary benefit and mine is expired now ( It has expired for my Freedom + Freedom Flex + Sapphire preferred!)

It seems to be targeted. My Flex and CSP don’t have it listed in list of benefits any longer in the app and my recent Lyft ride with flex only earned 1X points 🙁

Do Lyft rentals count as 10X?

Nope, rentals aren’t considered rideshare, so aren’t eligible for 10x

Is the Lyft deal still available for CSR, CSP – including the 1 yr complimentary pink upgrade?

I tried using Lyft for the first time over the summer while in Chicago. Couldn’t find a single driver over a 3 day period. I’ll stick with Uber.

Lyft premium has been a good benefit, and can stack with the MasterCard $5 monthly promo.

Does the Mastercard $5 promo still exist? If so, wouldn’t using the Freedom Flex (since it’s MC) be the best way to maximize the 5x for Chase UR? TYIA

Do Lyft GCs code as 10x? What if you buy Lyft GCs using travel credit? Normally you would not earn 3x on spend rebated from travel credit, but in this case would you still get 7x?

Buying a Lyft pass via chase sapphire reserve triggers the 10x

Well, this certainly is interesting. I don’t have a CSR but i have the Freedom, FU and Ink Plus and all of them show 5x on Lyft.
I usually take Uber first (to burn my 15 dollar AmEx Plat credit) but now will be taking Lyft also more often.

so my CSR annual fee went up $100 permanently for 1 year of Pink & 2 years of 10x Lyft ride? WTF
