This is the last day for this offer. Don’t forget that Staples currently has fee free $100 Mastercard’s as well.
The Offer
Check your Chase Offers for the following deal:
- Get 30% back at Staples or staples.com, max $19 cash back.
The Fine Print
- Expires 1/24/19
Our Verdict
Max this out with a ~$63 purchase to get the full $19 back. Interestingly, some people have a 12/31/18 expiration on this 10%/$6 Chase Offer (it’s a rolling expiration date so different people have different expirations) which hopefully means you’ll get an additional $10 back on the same purchase. Update: Looks like this won’t be possible.
Buying a gift card in-store or online is an easy way to max these out. You can split-tender in Staples stores if you have the offer on multiple cards (each card is separate) or if you want to put the rest on INK.
Hat tip to my friend J. and to reader Rye
William Charles It seems that Chase extended this promotion until 1/31. I made 3 seperate online purchase on 1/23 but the purchases didn’t post until 1/27 and it said the transaction date was 1/25. I thought I missed this opportunity however, I just received an email that I successfully redeemed the offer and when I checked the Chase app the expiration date now states 1/31. So happy Chase changed the date on this.
This offer is showing up on csp, last date 1/31. What does ‘Offer not valid on third-party purchases.’ mean. Does it mean not valid on gift cards other than staples store gift card.
We have a store nearby. some users in the post are saying the transaction posting after 2 -3 days which is after the deadline. Chase is giving very small window to take advantage of us, is that true?
Thanks.
Any data points on how to get targeted for Chase offers yet?
I had the 30% back offer and made a $100 GC purchase online on 1/22. The transaction did not post to my CC until 1/25. The offer expired on 1/24 and I don’t see the rewards yet. Any suggestions? I didn’t realize there would be a 3 day lag from when I placed the order to when my CC was charged…
Mine posted on the 26th. Not sure if it Chase offers go by the post date or purchase date. We’ll see.
I bought the $100 Mastercard gift card from Staples.com but it was back-ordered. Shipped today, still pending in my account. So based on the wording of the 30% offer payment will post after 1/24 and not qualify even though the order was placed prior to 1/24. Not a big deal, but not the $19 moneymaker I had planned. Buyer beware re purchase vs payment date.
Sadly that’s always the case. I used the chase offer for google express that expired on 12/31, ordered on 12/26, delivered on 12/28 and posted on 1/2.
I just realized I got screwed too. I purchased on 1/21, shipped 1/23, and now I see the transaction date as 1/24 and the post date as 1/25. Unbelievable.
Last time I used Chase offers on the last day (Sephora and Walgreens), the offers didn’t credit.
I ordered 2 of the MCGC yesterday (1/23) since I couldn’t make it to Staples to try to split across a $200 last week… still “processing” … hopefully it doesn’t get cancelled.
Made a purchase on 1/22, still “processing”
Is the $19 credited at checkout?
No, you receive as a statement credit.
Any idea how long it takeS for the statement credit to appear?
Not sure sorry.
Takes about a week.
My offer expires in 2 days and I am not home and don’t have all my credit cards on me. If I use my card through paypal, will the offer still be activated?
Unlikely. Can you try chase pay?
I don’t see the staples offer on my ink cards. Actually I don’t see any offers for my business card. Is this staples offer only for personal cards because I do see it for reserve and freedom. Thanks
Only for personal cards.
Anyone can share your experience?
Did you buy the eGC on staples.com and still get 30% back? If yes, which e-GC did you buy online?
How long did it take to post the cash back?
Thanks.
