Our Verdict
On the face of it a 200,000 point bonus is massive, but it’s important to note that for a lot of business cardholders the earning categories on this card aren’t as attractive as the Chase Ink cards and there is no 5x points on office supply stores. This is significant as this card does require $30,000 in spend, if you put that on a 5x category you’d earn 150,000 points and these cards often have 100,000+ point bonuses as well. I personally think it’s very difficult to justify the annual fee on this card, outside of the first year when you earn the sign up bonus. I also hate that Chase is going down the “coupon book” route that American Express made famous on the Platinum card.
Breakage (unused benefits) on these cards must be significant and the DoorDash credits are next level nickel and diming with three credits that have to be used monthly in specific categories. We will add this bonus to our list of the best business credit card bonuses as I do think the bonus is still worth chasing for a lot of people. I assume this will start showing up via referral links eventually so if you want to wait and support a reader we will create a dedicated thread at some stage
Any idea how long will this bonus be going for? I’d like to apply next week – 8/19/25.
Does anyone know if there is a minimum business revenue needed to successfully apply for this card? I have heard some people not getting this card for having under $15,000 in annual business revenue with the rejection reason being “insufficient business revenue”. Anyone else have any data points on this?
No idea, but credit card companies never really check. Take your best guess… even if it’s off by 20-100x your real revenue
It may be too soon to have any datapoints, but I would like to know if paying Google Fiber will count towards the $200 Google Workspace credit. The terms state
“Qualifying purchases are when you or an authorized user of the account, such as an employee, use the card for purchases made directly with Google or Workspace.Google.com “
5/24 and 1/6 – I was instantly approved! I did not use referral link. I applied directly from my account page while logged in.
Last summer I start getting denials for INKs due to multiple previous INKs.
My move from 4/24 to 5/25 was a stupid mistake I made about 5 months ago and I thought I have to wait another 7 months until I was eligible for any Chase card. I gave it a try since there are other “>5/24” DPs here. Glad I did 🙂
at 4/24, applied and got 7 to 10 days message, got approved notice two hours later. Got a letter the day after saying the credit reallocation was done to approve the card.
Analysis. Spend $495 annual fee ($795 – $300 travel credit) + $900 cost of spend (3%) and receive 230,000 points (200k SUB + 30k base earnings). So equals buying 230k points at $0.0061 CPP. That’s definitely not great considering I can use the Ink Cash 5x to get points at $0.006 CPP anytime. Of course, there’s all the CSR coupons that should render some value. Stil considering it. But man am I disappointed in mediocrity of this much-hyped SUB offer!
Update: Amex wins again (and by a lot!). Just got the Amex Business Platinum with a 250K offer for $20K spend. Took some hunting with incognito. Real shame that Chase put out such poor offers – all around big fail on CSR launches!
I already have the personal one. I am trying to justify this but doesn’t make sense right? Except for the travel credits, the others are largely useless if you have the personal card. lyft promos etc are very hard to track monthly.
In the end, its 2000$ bonus, minus $500 fee, on a 30k spend. Not sure if its worth it?
I’m thinking the same. Barely worth it imo. It seems like the premium cards are no longer churnable though so if you already had all the Sapphire bonuses this is the last one to get.
I am at 5/24 and was surprisingly APPROVED!
Was at 4/24, with a couple recent denials on Chase Inks, breaking a long streak of approvals from Chase. Closed a biz account to free up some credit, applied a week later, auto approved.
I got this email after applying. Chase also pulled my credit. What’s next? Just sit and wait?
“Thanks for requesting a new credit
We’ll review your Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business Credit Card application and be in touch soon. “
It’s already been two weeks since my wife got this message (for personal card) and haven’t heard anything yet.
