Chase Sending Out Large Checks For Missing Credit Card Rewards

Many Reddit users report getting a letter from Chase in the mail, along with a check for hundreds or even thousands of dollars to cover missing rewards.

It’s not very clear at this time whether it’s for missing referrals or some other type of missing rewards. Since this was a physical mailer, I’m still hoping to get this in the mail tomorrow, haha.

What’s interesting to me is that in our spreadsheet-minded hobby there are tons of people who could have missed thousands of dollars in rewards 😀 . Who knows.

Got a check for almost 2K for an Ink card that is long cancelled. The phone number posted in the letter is for a Disney Chase card, which I never had.

This is all very strange. I’m thinking of stop at a Chase branch and ask them to confirm if this is legit. Anyone else checked that? Or send a Secure Message via the Chase Website?

Yesterday, I received $1150 and mobile deposited my check I received for a closed CIC account. It posted yesterday just fine.
I am trying to figure out why they are sending for rewards not given? I did not forget or leave any points on the table. Received everything. Has anyone heard yet? Not complaining though.
I wonder if we will get taxed on this money?

I received and deposited my check on Tuesday. It has now cleared from the hold and funds are in my account.

I’m not saying these checks are going to be canceled or are fradulent or anything…but be aware that a hold clearing is about getting access to funds, not that some irreversible validation has completed. In general, a check could come back a week later as invalid and the funds reversed.

I deposited a check for over $1k and received a “hold notice” from my bank stating “we have confidential information that indicates the check may be returned and may require additional review”

I got one for $104 that has no accompanying letter-just says for rewards missing from 4-23. I have only had one chase card and it is still open. So odd.

I am still missing $121.95 in rewards from the last 3 quarters they never paid out properly in rewards. About ready to throw in the towel on Chase Freedom now that all my CFPB complaints keep getting closed without action every time I file this year. AG is no help. OCC just passes the buck because Chase is too big to be in their jurisdiction.

This thread reminds me of the old days on FT Manufactured Spend thread with Cracker Barrel and Autozone.

I know about the Cracker Barrel joke but what was the Autozone joke?

It was basically the same thing…someone posted that VGCs were available for purchase at Autozone or maybe it was Advanced Auto Parts to earn category bonus spend there and a lot of people didn’t realize they were being trolled.

No chance “in our spreadsheet minded hobby” someone forgot that chase owes them thousands.
