Chase To Launch Aer Lingus Credit Card In Spring

Chase just launched the new Iberia credit card earlier today and they will be launching an Aer Lingus card later this spring.

Card Basics

  • Sign up bonus unknown
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    •  3 Avios per $1 spent on Iberia, Aer Lingus, British Airways, LEVEL and OpenSkies
    • 1 Avios per $1 on all other purchases
  • Ticket for a companion when a ticket is purchased in economy class, after $30,000 spend in a calendar year
  • Priority boarding on flights to and from the U.S.
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Auto rental collision damage waiver
  • Lost luggage reimbursement
  • Purchase protection
  • $95 annual fee

Our Verdict

Given that the British Airways card and the Iberia card do not have the Chase 5/24 rule applied, I’d say it’s safe to state that this card will also be excluded from the rule. This is great news, it’ll be nice to have more opportunities to earn the sign up bonus on Chase cards.

Give me a Chase Emirates card and I’ll French kiss the next person I see regardless of sex and gender.

So what i an avios worth? Is this a good card or not? $30k for a companion pass is a high bar. I’m getting 2.6% cashback from a BoA card, but aer lingus is the only international carrier serving my local airport (BDL).

OK if Chase is bringing out all of these new airline credit cards I’d like to see SQ, EK, EY QR, QF which all have amazing First Class awards.

I know you can transfer avios between BA and Iberia, but is Aer Lingus part of this club too or are Aer Lingus avios their own thing? May have to start investing in more avios if you could transfer them all around here.

I see one more trap to catch the lol/24’ers and shut them down.

Hey Will, there is this misconception all over reddit that Chase shuts you down because “if you apply when you’re lol/24, suddenly Chase sees how many cards you have, freaks out, and shuts you down!” They forget that banks soft pull you all the time… and that the department shutting you down is almost certainly the risk department and separate from the new apps department…
