[5/24 Does Not Apply] Brand New Chase Iberia Credit Card: 75,000 Points Signup Bonus, $1,000 Yearly Voucher, $95 Annual Fee

Update 2: Full review now available here.

Update:  Data points indicate that you can get this card even if you are past 5/24.

Chase released today a new cobranded credit card with Iberia.

Direct Link to offer

  • $95 annual fee, not waived the first year
  • Signup bonus: 50,000 Avios after $3,000 in spend within 3 months, plus 25,000 Avios after $10,000 in spend within the first year
  • $1,000 discount voucher each calendar year you spend $30,000. Note, there are limitations on this voucher: “The discount voucher will be in the form of a code that can be applied by a Cardmember for a discount of $1,000 when purchasing two tickets, for the same flights in the same class of travel.”
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • 10% off Iberia flights when paying with the Iberia credit card
  • 3x Avios on Iberia purchases, 1x everywhere else
  • Card is Visa Signature

Hopefully Will will write a full review later. Million-dollar-question: will 5/24 apply to this card? It doesn’t apply to the Chase British Airways card. We’ll see… Let us know if you have a data point.

I just got approval. I have gotten denied on all chase 5/24 cards. Obviously this card is exempt from rule!! Go get it.

Maybe not anymore. British Airways might be going 5/24. Congrats on the card. Did you transfer AVIOS to BA or use them for Iberia?

As far as I remember, one has to show proof of being a resident of Spain to open an Iberia account, i.e. a passport or some document showing you reside in Spain.
Will applying for this cc automatically create an Iberia Avios account without the need of being a resident of Spain?

You do *not* have to show proof of residency of Spain to open an Iberia account. Sorry but that is nonsense.

Must you use the $1000 w/in 12 months of the $30K spend?

Way over 5/24. Applied, went to pending. Called reconsideration. Rep asked me about my income and my housing costs. Shifted line of credit from another card. Put me on hold for a few minutes. Approved

Applied with a 780 Fico 8 but was denied due to 22 credit cards being opened in the last 2 years. Already tried recon but they said no.

Got it, $5k limit, way way way over 5/24 past 6 months calm with other apps

FiCo score 770’ish credit with chase $40k’ish? Multiple cards with chase already since 2014

Strange, during app it asked me to confirm my income and if I wanted to include any additional income, I never got that before

Recently got business and personal Alaska air cards (again) so recent couple apps don’t seem to mess up chances getting that lovely instant approval on screen.

Seems like there is a lot of love for Iberia here

Its a shame that everyone seems to flock to Chase to issue a card. They have so many which I want. Just got two so I doubt I have any chance anytime soon; 5/24 applicable card or not.
