Update 2/19/25: Lounge will be open starting tomorrow.
Chase plans to open another Sapphire Lounge in Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). At the moment we know the following:
- Lounge will be 20,000 square feet
- Lounge will be located in the Terminal D/E connector
- No opening date currently, to be announced at a later date
This is the 8th Sapphire Lounge announced (IAD, LAS, PHX, SAN, BOS, HKG & LGA), with the first lounge being recently opened. These will be accessible to Priority Pass members.
Hat tip to Thrifty Traveler
Very happy about this. I enjoyed the PHL Amex lounge for years, but it is indeed crowded, and I’d rather cancel my Platinum and keep my Sapphire. The location between D and E isn’t ideal for an American Airlines flier, but I’ll happily make a 12-minute walk.
You are only permitted one entrance per year with a Priority Pass unless the Priority Pass is part of your Chase Sapphire Reserve or Ritz Carlton cards, in which case, you receive unlimited admission.
Is it one entrance across all airports or one entrance for each airport?
Glad that Chase and Cap One are upping their game. Amex for so long has eaten the Lounge market.
Bout to be first in line rockin’ my new Doctor of Credit t-shirt
For peeps who didnt know:
The centurion lounge at PHL is a depressing 6,000 sq ft lol
Sapphire lounge at Las Vegas airport should come some time this year
us lounges sucks pretty much everywhere any way
I wonder if they’re doing this to prepare for the next world cup. PHL got a bunch of money to make the airport better for the volume it’ll need to handle
100%, the entire airport got huge funding to expand as well to prepare. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s even close to do the capacity it needs to be at.
Dear Chase,
Thanks for opening up another lounge that our cardmembers can access.
Much love this Christmas season,
AMEX
The Centurian lounge at PHL is usually a zoo, so I’ll welcome the Saphire Lounge. Although, I usually end up in one of the AAdmirals lounges.
I’ve never had an issue at the PHL centurion, There was a waitlist once and I was called within 10 min.
The last 4 times I’ve been have been 1-1.5hr wait. It really depends on what time u get there. Last Friday my wife got there at 3:30 and had a 5min wait, i got there at 5pm and it was 1.5hr (got in at exactly 1hr) . If our flight wasn’t delayed I wouldn’t have even gotten in.
The whole area above TSA checkpoint can be 20k sqft?
Or it’s beneath TSA checkpoint? I don’t remember any stairs or elevator there.
