Chase Opens First Lounge In Hong Kong, Next Lounge Not To Open Until 2023

Chase first announced the Chase Sapphire Lounges in mid 2021, they have now announced a total of 9 lounges: IAD, LASPHXSANBOSHKG & LGA (two remain unknown). Chase has finally opened the first lounge in Hong Kong (Terminal 1) and also stated that the next lounge will not be open until 2023.

Chase has partnered with Airport Dimensions (owner of ‘The Lounge’) for these lounges and the Hong Kong lounge has actually taken over a previous The Lounge location. Priority Pass cardholders can also access these lounges so this is really more of a branding exercise than additional access for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders.

Very weird. You see, Citi already exited and closed a lot of their branches in Asia

Exactly! WW3 will be likely happening in Asia given how aggressive China is rn. I already pulled out any investment related to China. Glad I had the right move.

It’s okay to bank in Singapore or Hong Kong. Just don’t use HSBC there

I’m not sure about HK… since HK is already part of China. Singapore is prob the only safe harbor in Asia. I have the DBS account and I highly recommend it.

Good for you. When did you open your DBS account in Singapore?
Right now, they require a USD 50k initial deposit.
A few years back, people could open it with as little as 1k…..
DBS also took over CIti’s branches in Taiwan and probably many parts in Asia.
One day, I wanna be a private client of DBS.

Unfortunately there’re limited flights between the US and Hong Kong….
I doubt if Chase is gonna make their money back anytime soon. Bad move.

Bro no one is going to hk with 3 days of restricted access and 7 days of testing and being tracked for everywhere you go

True, but there are also folks in HK rushing out of the city after 3 years of isolation. Good for them to be the first ones to enjoy the lounge with their PP.

The people who can afford to have a PP already left HK long time ago…. Most of them.

The US gov can track everywhere you go too. Law enforcement can subpoena your cell phone tower record if they have enough suspicion on you.

Do they make you scan a code to enter any restaurants and cite you $500 for having your nose sticking out of your masks?

1. Restrictions don’t apply to transit passengers.
2. Lounges are used mostly by transit passengers, almost never by arrivals.
