According to City of Phoenix documents Chase plans to open a Sapphire Lounge in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). Here’s what we know so far:
- Lounge will be in the new eight-gate facility in Terminal 4
- Lounge will be 3,500 square feet
- Concourse will open in summer 2022, unclear when the lounge itself will open
Chase has already announced plans to open lounges in SAN, BOS, HKG & LGA.
Hat tip to TPG
I change my kids diaper on the bar table in the MIA centurion lounge I can’t wait to do it in PHX
You’ll have to be more specific, you could be any one of a number of people.

A 3500 sq ft lounge entirely surrounded in the concourse by Southwest gates.
now I can’t get it out of my head.
Seems like there were 4 bids, including from Capital One and I guess another Escape Lounge?

The current Escape lounge in T4 is pretty small. They designed it to share a moveable wall with the Centurion lounge next door. Since Amex bought or cobrands or whatever with Escape now I wouldn’t be surprised if they want to remodel to make the Centurion lounge occupy the entire space.
Don’t get it – PHX doesn’t even crack the top 10 busiest airports in the US and Chase decides on Sky Harbor?
you’re right, lounges should only be made in the busiest airports /s
Well – when I plan trips, I ALWAYS connect with the busiest airport.
Pretty sure Sky Harbor was the 8th busiest airport last year and consistently hovers in the top 15 busiest airports. It has been growing quickly with the massive population boom here.
It’s the fifth largest city in the country lol. You’re making it sound like this is a lounge in North Dakota
no love for Fargo 🙁
This is great news. PHX has a Centurion Lounge, but hasn’t had a Priority Pass Lounge in years. With the new Terminal 4 extension being constructed, I’m excited to see how this turns out!
In “years”?! C’mon man – it hasn’t been that long. You belong in politics.
I’ve had several layovers at PHX starting about 3 years ago, and afaik there has been no PP lounge in that time. Or did I somehow miss it?
No you didn’t miss it. Jared has no clue what he is talking about. Three years sounds about right.
3,500 square feet… WHAT
From what I’ve read elsewhere, CSR will have access and PP. But they’re not sure about CSP. Kinda makes sense as it isn’t a high fee premium card, but it also has “Sapphire” in the name…
Really hope they don’t give access to CSP holders. Considering that CSP is the most popular credit card with AF among Americans, giving lounge access to these folks would put tremendous pressure on seating availability.
If PP also has access, then it won’t matter who else gets access because then no one will have access.
Should only be for csr holders.
Pp would kill this
I’m a PP guest. Me and my 5 kids are really looking forward to this lounge. I hope there’s room for them to run around. They like that. Hope it’s sound-proofed too.
🙂
They need to sweeten the deal by prioritizing or guaranteeing entry to Sapphire lounges for CSR cardholders. Or else the Sapphire branding is marketing gimmick. They’re simply just another PP lounge ran by The Club which is nothing extraordinary.
