Chase sent out a mass Secure Message to business credit cardholders with a few updates on the online login for business cards. I glanced at it without noticing anything, but r/churning members point out a couple of things which could be somewhat interesting.
Here’s the full message with a bit of my commentary:
Starting in December, your business card account delivers new online and in-app features.
- View pending transaction status.
- Hopefully that means that the terribly annoying gap that currently exists with Chase cards between when purchases goes from pending to complete will no longer be a thing. I wonder if they’ll update personal cards too with this update.
- Clearly see purchases associated with specific cards on your account (last 4 digits of card shown on each transaction).
- This is great to be able to figure out who charged what. Only possible on Chase business cards since the employee card comes with a unique card number, not on personal cards.
- Use expense categories that are more aligned to businesses.
- Add a longer memo to your transaction details (up to 200 characters).
- Filter and view transactions for the last 24 months of statements.
- Download Quarterly Reports with the new expense categories.
- Use the new Spend Report that features year-end summary and year-to-date filters with expense categories.
NOTE: If you need to retain any memos or expense categories, you must download them before the changes listed above take effect on December 9, 2018.
how about letting us add business cards to Apple/Google/Samsung pay?
+1 nice at Office Depot & Staples
exactly, would be nice to see at least the ink cash and unlimited in the chase pay app
Was definitely a little worried when I got the email that Chase sent an SM. Turned out be completely unnecessary, imo. Why not just put this in the body of the email and skip the SM?
The email concerned me for a moment as well since I’ve been hitting all these VGC deals pretty hard, but then I saw that it at least contained the subject of the SM: “Business card enhancements”… Agree that it was entirely unnecessary to make cardholders log in to read it though!
Probably a security issue. Some people might be able to read an email but may not be the Chase business card account holder. I agree though that for 99% of us, this is not an issue and really annoying.
Would love for them to add a spend manager (like American Express’s).
No more Pending transactions sounds awesome! Hate when gas stations charge $100 for a $30 fill
That’s not what was stated. Rather instead of the sequence being “pending”-invisible-complete, it should become “pending”-“processing”-complete without disappearing.
