Remember to turn off auto-renewal. They did not want to issue me a refund even though the charge was made today.

Still has not posted to Simplymiles and I have emailed 2 times over the last 30 days and each time they just respond with

“This is to inform you that we have taken a follow up from Tier 2 Team, we will let you know as we have any update from them.”

Any other avenues to escalate with them?

Maxrebates took away cashback. Seems to be across the board

“All of our data are from the merchant. The merchant determined this order is invalid. That means no cashback for this order. ”
Not happy with that weak explanation…

Seems like they underestimated how many people would be a part of the promotion. Wonder if would be in violation of TOS, though.

For all those wondering: CITI offer credits post at the END of your statement period. So if you don’t want to wait too long (1 mo) to see if your deal posts, do this like a 1-2 weeks prior to the end of your statement period.

That is not necessarily true. Ubereats, Blueapron and others posted for me a few days after those transactions posted.

What’s a decent Citi card to get to start receiving these offers… Looking specifically for getting AA loyalty points .

Not currently part of the Citi points ecosystem. Just have Chase UR and Amex MR.

Thanks in advance!

Citi Double Cash is pretty good. I signed up for that card when it came out. At the time getting 2% on everything was a huge deal, so much so that there was no welcome bonus. Now, you can get that card with a welcome bonus ($200 on $1500 spend?). The only downside is that it is 1% on spend, 1% bonus upon payment. Moreover, you need to make sure you take the cash back money as a check because if you take it as a statement credit you forfeit that 1% on that money since you aren’t “paying” it.

Citi Custom Cash looks pretty good. $200 signup bonus on $750 spend. People complain that the 5x points is limited to $500, which equates to $25 bonus per quarter (vs Chase, for example, $1500 spend limit on quarter 5% rewards). There is also no category for wholesale clubs.

The maximum Citi Custom Cash bonus is $25 per MONTH (not quarter), so it works out to $75 per quarter – which is the same as the 5% category max bonus per quarter on Chase or Discover.

The huge advantage to the Custom Cash card is that every month YOU get to decide what the bonus category is. I have two of the cards and use them both for the “grocery stores” category every month. If I don’t need to spend $1000 on food in a particular month, then I spend the difference on gift cards at Safeway. Between the 5% cash back and Safeway’s rewards program – using the gift cards nets me about 9% cash back.

Does Citi “frown” upon hitting the minimum spend by buying gift cards? I don’t even think the purchase will code as a gift card, it’s Gift of College from a gas station for 529 – codes as gas…

But I know Amex excludes gift card purchases from counting towards minimum spend bonus.

Used your MaxRebates link, so on track to eventually get $23.80 cashback. Bigger incentive for me here is the 4,050 AA miles and, more importantly to me, Loyalty Points I’ll receive. Getting close to Platinum. Just need to keep track of the various benefit streams on this and make sure that they all eventually post.

Don’t see it either with Citi Custom Card, maybe it’s showing with another Citi Card. Which Mastercard did you try with?
