    • Some got a 5% offer. Limit $250 statement credit per month.

There are numerous other variations, and some which offer points instead of statement credit.

The Fine Print

  • Requires activation first.
  • Grocery stores are stand-alone merchants that primarily sell a complete line of food merchandise for home consumption. Grocery or food purchases made at convenience stores, gas stations, warehouse clubs, supercenters and discounts stores are not eligible. Gas stations are merchants that primarily sell vehicle fuel for consumer use. Restaurant purchases are those made at merchants classified as full service restaurants, cafes, cafeterias and fast food locations. Merchants must submit charges under the appropriate merchant code or industry code for you to receive the statement credit.

Our Verdict

Readers Donald and KD sent in the 5% and 10% offers, and Milestomemories reports getting the 15% offer. We added the 20% offer based on the comments here. Sounds like some sort of offer was sent out to all Citi Sears cardholders, hopefully you got one of the better versions.

I also received the 10% rebate on $2K mo min/$2.5K max spend for 3Q. This was after getting a 20% rebate on $1K each month in 2Q.

I got the 10x on this again for July/Aug/Sep….but it has a 2k mo minimum to get that. Kind of crappy since no way I would do that organically in the COVID world and I’m not a MSer. Maybe Sears is mad that I was hitting all the goals back when it was only 500 or 1000 per month.

In the last 6 months, I’ve racked up almost $1000* in statement credits. I do not understand the how or why of what they’re doing, but I’m totally enjoying the benefits…

1. 15% back on grocery, restaurant, gas (min $500/$75, max $800/$120 back) Oct, Nov, Dec… then they offered it again Jan, Feb, Mar

2. 10% back in department stores (min $200/$20, max $600/60) Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan

3. $10 back on transactions $100-250, $40 on $250-750, $100 on >$1000 (Nov, Dec)

4. 18 mos. 0% single transaction >$549 (Sep-Jan) + $50 back

5. 15000 ThankYou points for charging >$3000 11/26-2/29

(*1000 or more, depending on how you value 18 months at 0% and 15000 TYP)

All offers came via email, and surprisingly, they all seemed to work. What’s even better … as long as you pay => any new charges showing on your statement, you still get the full grace period __even if you’re carrying a 0% APR promo balance__

I can’t believe that the Citi Sears card has been my main “go to” card for this many months, but when these offers are in play, it’s a no-brainer for the right categories.

Rule #1 of the game– WATCH YOUR EMAIL and sign up right away.

(PS – hubby *HATES* me for changing around what card to use for what every month. I’ve been forced to print up a laminated cheat-card for him to keep in his wallet. Checking email now to see if we are going back to this card again this month 🙂 )

For Jan-Mar I received an offer of 10% monthly statement credit on $1200 spend ($120 back).
For Apr-Jun the offer was upped to 20% credit on $2000 spend ($200 back).

Has anyone seen the credit posted to their account yet? I made my first purchases in February and haven’t gotten the credit yet.

I got 20X bonus ThankYou Points per dollar spent at grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants using my Sears Mastercard:

“For total eligible purchases of $500 or more made each month 4/1/2020 – 6/30/2020 up to a maximum total of 15,000 Bonus Points each month.”

I got the 20% offer up to $150 back. I also used the card for the last couple of months since I got the 10% up to $120 back offer in February. So it may be based on how much you’ve used the card.

In addition to these monthly statement credits, I have simultaneously been taking advantage of monthly statement credits for online internet purchases ($100 max). Giftcard Mall is an eligible merchant. The bonus to all of this are the earned shop you way rewards points. I almost have enough to buy a new refrigerator in sywr points alone!

Which SEARS card is the best to apply for for these opportunities?

20X TYP up to 15K TYP / mo for Apr, May, Jun. This is on top of the 20X to 12K points for Jan, Feb, Mar and the 10X on online purchases to 10K for Feb, Mar, Apr. So a total of 111K TYP in the first half of the year…. so far!
It’s definitely a leap of faith to get this card and do the PC and it took me a year to get the good offers started but it is worth the wait.
