The Offer

  • Delta has released some round trip award tickets to Europe from 33,000 miles + taxes & fees. Must purchase by June 13, 2018 for travel January 10 – March 15, 2019

Our Verdict

Delta is kind of ridiculous in that they have no award chart, but still regularly hold these sales. We still post these deals as they are cheaper than what you’d normally pay. For example these flights normally price in at 60,000 miles round trip so you are saving up to 27,000 miles. That being said these dates are definitely low season (Christmas markets are well and truly over and the weather still sucks), so cash prices for tickets during these dates might also be an option worth considering. Still if you’re planning on being in Europe during these dates you could definitely do worse.

I booked four tickets Boston – Cancun for 14K RT/ea with $85 fee in April 2019. Not low season but it is great lowest mileage cost I’ve ever seen for anything similar. I have long ignored Delta Miles…but lately their mileage redemption sales, like Paris recently, puts them at the TOP of my AMEX MR redemptions!

Right. The Zurich ticket is the only one that would be a good value — if you ski, of course. But I can only imagine the cost of skiing in Switzerland. I’ve spent time in the Alps in summer and it’s very nice, but also very expensive.
