Drop is an app that lets you earn rebates by linking your credit card. You basically get additional rewards on spend you’d normally make anyway and currently the rates they are offering are quite high, for example:

- Walmart – 10 points per $1 (1%)
- Target – 10 points per $1 (1%)
- Whole Foods Market – 10 points per $1 (1%)
- Trader Joe’s – 15 points per $1 (1.5%)
- Safeway – 11 points per $1 (1.1%)
- HEB – 20 points per $1 (2%)
- Fred Meyer – 20  points per $1 (2%)
- Uber – 15 points per $1 (1.5%)
- Starbucks – 15 points per $1 (1.5%)
- McDonald’s – 10 points per $1 (1%)
- Dunkin’ Donuts – 17 points per $1 (1.7%)
- Chipotle – 15 points per $1 (1.5%)
- 7-Eleven – 19 points per $1 (1.9%)
- Shell – 3 points per $1 (.3%)
- Bath & Body Works

Somebody from Drop reached out to me to let me know that “Once we remove the secret access code and offer Drop to everyone, earn rates will decrease slightly”. If you’re thinking of joining I’d do it sooner rather than later so you can lock in these higher rates. You can use our invite code doctorofcredit to join and we will receive 1,000 points ($1) when you do. I’d recommend reading through our full review of the drop app for more information.
I just made a purchase from an online website with amazon pay. I did use my CC that is linked to my Drop account and I now have pending points for that transaction. I am not sure if this is something that is know already but I thought I would share.
Has anyone had success linking a USB credit card?
If I sign up and buy a $50 gc with my linked card will I automatically get banned or is that only if you excessively buy gc?
hi . i need a good credit score you have an idea?
As many suggests , dont promote this. If you have a good contact with them , then ask to resolve the issue of not paying / flagging accounts . Only 1 person is arguing on behalf of them, Joker.
Not really promoting it, just making readers aware that the current rates they have won’t be available forever for new users. Up to each individual to decide if it makes sense for them or not. I’ll write a follow up post so readers are aware of the issues Drop currently has.
Thank you. It’s alright to make people aware rates may drop. But there needs to be a warning that Drop seems to be having some serious issues, and it should not enter into one’s calculus in terms of whether they buy something. If the MS they do makes sense regardless of Drop, then fine. But if you’re counting on Drop, then it doesn’t make sense to do it.
It has worked well for me so far but I do not MS. I don’t blame them for putting counts on hold that show to use MS. I would appreciate anyone using my drop referral code which is 99njs
Drop dropped the ball on this one and hopefully will get what’s coming to them if they don’t handle all of our matters in a more expeditious manner.
I am quite disgusted with how they have thus far handled “their” issues, not ours, by “flagging” accounts for our “safety.” BULL STINKY (had to find my humor in this post somewhere)!
BTW if you live in New York stop by and let them know how “Great” they are doing.

Am I a moron or is it pretty hard to figure out where to sign up for Drop with your referral code? Could someone please advise? Their site seems to only have a email waitlist signup
Thank you!!
andddd got it. Click through the four “intro” pages on the app until it asks for a code, do not click “sign in”
Do NOT promote them. At least for now.
Like everyone else said credits stopped posting and been over a week since I redeemed points for amazon gc still waiting for them to arrive.
Emails to them are futile. Saying they’re checking MY account for MY safety.
These guys don’t realize they’re in America now. It ain’t like Canada. You’re trying to hang with the big boys now
Their conduct has class action written all over it lol
I have to agree with SB. It is a shame that Drop is acting this way. They were very responsive at first, but they refuse to respond to emails about purchases not tracking and posting, and gift cards not paying out. A company that is not transparent should not be promoted.
Having only signed up recently, my credits posts fine and I already have a $20 GC on the way.
I don’t understand the idea of not pointing people in their direction. The worst that can happen is you get nothing. On the flip side you night easily make an effortless $20+ whether or not Drop is having issues. Given that there is no risk, you’d be stupid not to sign up and give it a try.
And of course the most useless “contributor” of this site chimes in with nonsense.
You belong on boardingarea not here
You seem like a reasonable and well-balanced individual with whom I could have a productive conversation.
I honestly figured you were too much of a clown, hence no explanation.
“Given that there is no risk” and “The worst that can happen is you get nothing”
Sure there is no risk of death or catching herpes but it’s all relative. And the worst that can happen is not getting nothing. It’s overpaying unnecessarily for MS that I otherwise would not have done.
It’s the difference between paying over 1 cpp vs. paying .2 or .3 cpp. That’s a huge difference when you scale. If it weren’t for them and what they “promised” I would have continued with my .76 cpp and been happy.
Sure, one can say with MS all new avenues are trial and error. But, when you are promised something by a supposedly reputable company with over 70,000 users in Canada you would hope there would be no glaring issues.
Telling people points will post within 5 business days and not adhering to that and also not sending the amazon gift cards when it is promised within 3 days of redemption is not appropriate.
On top of that it takes the user to send an email to support for them to tell you your account has been “flagged” for OUR “safety” come on!
So yes as a blog that influences and reaches thousands of people, warning people of these problems or waiting until their issues clear up before you promote them again would be the ethical thing to do.
Cheers
My first 29,957 in credits showed up fine, but I’m missing 20,000+ from the 3rd and the 5th. I “redeemed” 15,000 for a $15 Groupon certificate, but I have yet to receive it 6 days later, which is well outside the window that they gave for delivery.
It seemed too good to be true from the start, really. I think that they’re realizing that now, too.
Yeah, we’ll see on my end as I only signed up on the 4th. I’ll enjoy a much higher margin if they come through, but it doesn’t change my plans one way or another.
I love when you all fight on this blog.
It may not save us any money, but I guess it does keep us on our toes.
I’ve had a $50 GC “on the way” since June 28. I won’t hold my breath.
I’m doubtful this survives a year, but it’s interesting just the same.
Now I remember why I ignored this one – inputting you bank logins. Fuck that.
Wait, you saying they require to have your bank login at the first place??? In that sense it’s like they can see your account totally???? This is crazy. I won’t even try it!
It’s not something to be worried about. They use a service called Plaid and your login information is not stored by them.
Lately, companies have become shittier. Not even the up and going one like Drop, but well established ones too.
I would not trust anyone much.
Drop stopped paying a week ago. It’s a scam. No longer responds to support tickets.
I”d pull this post and instead warn people about how shady they are.
Have to agree here. I changed all my bank PWs and have given up on payouts. They obviously didn’t factor in MSers when they came up with the program and once they saw how it would effect their payouts they started deleting points and suspending payouts. I think it’s a bad idea to push anyone toward their service at this point.
I would say they were simply naive to a fundamental market force that caught them like deer in the headlights and now they’re scrambling. Someone didn’t do their homework considering Drop repeated the same mistake as its failed predecessors (Envaulted, Great Bridge Group, etc.) who also had to quickly react by watering down and capping the rewards. I will say though however those companies at least paid out what was agreed (at least until they ran out of money which you really can’t fault). if Drop tries to weasel out of what is owed everyone right now but continue operating I suspect the backlash will be severe.
