Ebates Offering 32% Back at 1800Flowers, Stack with Amex + Dosh for up to 87% Discount

Nick at Frequentmiler found an excellent triple stack at 1800flowers which can potentially result in up to 77% cashback on purchases. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, February 14th.

1) Ebates/Rakuten if offering 32% cashback. Not sure how long this deal will be around, possible it’s for today only, 2/7.

Another option is to go through the United portal for 30x miles. All portal options can be found here.

2) There are two Amex Offers going on currently for 1800flowers:

  • $15 off $50, found on personal cards
  • 10% back, found on business cards

Some people may even have both Amex deals on one card and can get up to 40% back from Amex alone. Remember to save the offers before making the purchase:

3) The Dosh app is offering 15% cashback on 1800flowers, valid through February 14th. Be sure to link your Amex card to the Dosh app to get this cashback. You don’t have to click through the Dosh link to get this, it tracks based on the card like a card link program, so you can click through Ebates and still get the Dosh cashback.

In the end, it’s doubtful you’ll land up with 87% back since you may not have both Amex Offers on one card, plus it’s hard to get exactly $15 off $50. But even if you just count the 10% Amex deal, you’ll and up with 57% back which is a nice discount.

Here’s my Ebates referral (you get $10 if you signup and make a purchase) and my Dosh referral (you get $5 if you signup and link a card).

Posting this since i read that ebates is also declining some cashback as well

This is not from ebates but Topcashback/1800 flowers stiffed me on my cashback from a purchase (made before the ebates came online – i think it was 20-22% maybe)

here’s the full text from them:
“1800Flowers Cashback has been declined by the retailer”
“This transaction has been declined, meaning the retailer feels that it is not eligible for cashback.”
“Unfortunately we aren’t able to look into missing cashback claims for this retailer.”
“To view some possible reasons as to why the merchant has reached this decision, or to simply get some more information about declined cashback, please visit our Help Section.”

base don this, its most likely Dosh wont pay out as well.

I think TCB is not to blame for this however if the text from my declined cashback is to be believed. Looks like it’s coming straight from 1800flowers
I recall reading a comment from someone – either here or on another forum saying that 1800 flowers wasnt paying CB on purchases made with an Amex Offer but i have no way of proving that is true. However it’s looking slightly plausible based on the recent spate of declinations. BUT can they do this? Thats the question. The only reason most of us purchase from them is because of the Amex offer and i bet they have the data to show that (are Amex offers paid for by the retailer or combo of Amex and the retailer?)

Just adding my 2 cents to the discussion

Chuck Contacted Ebates and was given the runaround. Mentioned the better business bureau and all of a sudden they discovered an “error” on 1-800 Flower’s end. I would suggest anyone who did this deal to check if the same has happened to them as I doubt it’s just me and Sue.

I love the Doctor of Credit site, has saved me $1000’s most likely and gotten me a lot of free junk but don’t understand why they promote Ebates and Topcashback so much. These sites are unscrupulous at best.

Interesting, eBates appeared to have clawed back the cashback! Just disappeared from my account. Did this happen to anyone else?

Yes came on here to post the same thing. See my message below about dosh as well. Believe me I will be posting in every ebates/rakuten thread that Doc tries to promote to stay away. Just an absurd bait and switch with outrageous payout numbers (32%) promised.

Anyone get paid by dosh? I received ebates(rakuten) and amex so it was still a good deal, but still out like $14 through dosh. Wondering if you have to go through their app initially? Will likely never know as their support is about as worthless as topcashback and cardpool combined. (Just having a warning 365 days a year that you have a high volume of support tickets doesnt excuse crappy customer service)

I went through Lemoney and my cashback tracked on there, but still waiting on Dosh. Anyone have an update of it successfully tracking on Dosh?

Are you sure with Dosh online offers you don’t have to shop through their app?

DP: The Ebate cashback tracked successfully for my purchase yesterday, although I removed the code Ebates to be able to use Shoprunner. Dosh has not shown yet.

How about ebates, then checkout with Visa checkout and code VC25 for 25% off your order with Visa Checkout. Use an amex linked to Dosh that has the amex offer(s) loaded.

I’m seeing reports that amex offers work via Visa checkout…. This is only better assuming amex offers won’t work through PayPal. Any confirmation either way?

I have purchased a lot via 1800flowers through the years, and it is a hassle. They often stiff me on frequent flyer miles. They say the free shipping club I purchased for $29.99 counts as a “promo code” and invalidates other offers. They get orders wrong, too, sent me low-quality “premium” fruit, and their boxed flowers aren’t even worth considering.

If you are willing to take the time to hassle with their customer service team, they will usually eventually make things right. Usually.

But, their Harry and David line of food is good, and their are lots of little Harry and David items one can buy to make the minimum purchase amount you need.

And, their hand-delivered flowers are contracted to local florists, and can often be a good value. The 1800flowers website will show you a tiny bouquet and try to upsell you to something much more expensive. But, if you buy the small or medium bouquets, the florist will often pad the arrangement out with some ferns or chrysanthemums so it isn’t as tiny as the smallest size in the picture.

Southwest often offers 1750 points via promo code for a purchase of about $35 (doesn’t count towards a companion pass), and Amtrak Guests Rewards often offers 25 points per dollar via promo code, with each point being worth 2.8 cents of rail fares. If you can get these offers to post and can stack with an Amex offer, it’s often a 75% or more discount. If you can get free shipping via Shoprunner or the 1800flowers Passport club, and combine with Amex $15 off $50, you end up paying $35 to get 1750 Southwest points, $10.50 of Amtrak fares, and $50 of food or flowers. You could consider that a 100% discount on the food/flowers. But, I haven’t posted about it here, because getting the promo code offers to post is often a lot of work. And, I don’t think they can be combined with portal bonuses. I suspect trying to do both might result in getting neither.
