[DEAD] Ebates Sweet 16% Payouts

ebate sweet 16

The Offers

Ebates, which is one of the better cashback portals IMHO, is having its 16th Anniversary promotion this week. They will have over 150 retailers with 16% payouts via their portal.

There may be some opportunities for double dipping (buying a gift card, and then making your purchase with the gift card). I would caution that in the case of double dipping, if the portal doesn’t track, and the term and conditions explicitly states no cashback on gift cards, you will not be able to submit missing cashback ticket successfully.

I searched FrequentMiler’s Labratory in terms of cashback on gift card purchases and the use of gift cards for purchase at Ebates, the results where mixed, so “tread lightly”.

Fine Print

Starts Monday, May 11 and will last all week. Ends today May 18th

*I am unsure if the store offered each day will change throughout the week.

Verdict

Ebates is personally my favorite portal in terms of customer service. If I ever had an issue with something tracking I simply submit a ticket and the cashback is in my account within hours, if not minutes. While Ebates does now always offer the best portal payouts throughout the year, this is the one time of year where they go above and beyond and definitely offer some of the highest rates you will see.  You can check the portal payout history via Cashback Monitors new tool that we wrote about here.  I would also suggest reading DoC’s Interview for the inner workings of portals and how they are able to offer these great cashback opportunities and tips for the best way to be sure your purchases track.

If you find any particular retailer that you think other readers would like to know about feel free to post in the comments or email me. I will try to keep the post as up to date as possible throughout the week.

Tracking under “shopping trip” but still nothing under pending cash back from purchase on May 13th… Is this normal? Can’t see a link to submit missing purchase… Help anybody?

Help! I am risk averse on these types of transactions. I am in quick need of a minimum spend, also.

So, as experiment, I should buy a Kohl’s GC (my choice) for say, $100, and I will earn $16 back.? What about shipping?

I don’t see the referral box as when I go to ebates.com, I get that block over that doesn’t let me access the website without giving email resulting in sign up.

let me know if this link works http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=SRVoSb1Q1aYjLnt615tI1w%3D%3D&eeid=28187

I would highly advise against buying a gift card via a portal in hopes of cashback. If it doesn’t track you have no recourse. I would suggest getting Amex Gift cards (2% CB on the 21st) and use them for regular spend or buy visa gift cards to load to bluebird, serve, or redbird.
