Our Verdict

Best deals are obviously the 75% and 90% off deals, although $100 off $200 are good as well. The problem is always that the good deals get snapped up almost instantly. The 75%/90% off both require booking in app so keep that in mind. I’m personally not even going to bother trying to book anything because I’m almost certain I will miss out, but others might want to give it a go.

That hotel wasn’t on the list. I’m confused.

Friday’s coupon was restricted only to independent hotels. The ones today are super disappointing and limited to a couple dozen mostly mid-range hotels.

Oh sorry, thought it was today’s 90% off. It’s way too early for me to be doing things.

Doc,

Could you please add a little more detail on how to attempt to get these deals? Is it advantageous to have an itinerary saved to and try to book immediately at the stated time of the deal? Or is it the kind of thing where you will know if you have the coupon when you come back to the page at a certain time, so you can take your time finding a good redemption?

I’ll share my experience. I did this a couple of years ago when Travelocity was running it at 90%. I did everything according to the rules. I had it added to the cart and entered the promo code within 10 seconds. The promo removed 90% of the total and I clicked through to finalize the purchase. I waited for what seemed like 10-15 seconds and it came back with a general error message and redirected me back to the checkout screen where the promo had magically disappeared and would not let me re-add it. Ever since that happened, I’ve been convinced this is a shady marketing ploy at best.

Well I’ll share my experience. I did this a couple of years ago and got 5 out of 6 hotels. Gotta be quicker than 10 seconds. Like half a second. It takes a lot of effort, but it worked out great for me. Had less success last year, only 2 hours of deals. Not sure if there’s anything worthwhile this year.

This one is my specialty. Got about an 80% success rate on the 90% off deal in the last two years. 2016 was the best when they had no $ limit! I had 17 nights in all inclusives in Mexico!

What is the procedure here? Do you just create an itinerary and hope that when you go to checkout, the discount is applied?

What was your method? Also, did you try using a portal when booking and did it pay out? Thanks!

I want to make sure that I understand this correctly before I go wasting my time trying to get one of the hotel deals. The 75% discount is only valid on the hotels that are featured on the landing page, and on those specific dates, correct? The code cant be used on any hotel you want

What exactly constitutes a vacation package? Is that some itinerary prepackaged from expedia or anytime you bundle hotel+flight for example? If its the latter then I think the $500 off $1000 is pretty compelling

These app only deals are starting to get annoying. I don’t want to clutter up my phone with so many different apps and who knows what information they are gathering.
