Facebook Marketplace has begun to start selling gift cards. It looks like they have launched with iTunes & Google Play, options are as follows:
- $100 gift card for $90
- $50 gift card for $45
- $25 gift card for $22.5
- $10 gift card for $9
- $100 gift card for $90
- $50 gift card for $45
- $25 gift card for $22.5
- $15 gift card for $12.75
- $10 gift card for $8
This is from the daily steals account (more or less the official account) will be interesting to see if they start offering other gift cards at a discount. 10% off for iTunes/Google Play isn’t particularly good though, so they will need to up the discount offered.
I tried to sell my Safeway gift cards on marketplace but it keeps getting denied. Anyone knows why?
Agreed, this first promo is a non-starter for most in this space. Even if one needed to ramp up one’s bulk seller item # volume, we apparently can only buy one of the $10 cards per transaction. Lot of work for little benefit.
More broadly, not at all sure I’m comfortable doing any business via the one venue so profoundly antithetical to our privacy. So what’s fb going to do with all the data of what we buy? Sell it so Amex rat teams? (cynical yes …. and I’m not comforted by the mindless yahoozie response, “so what, they all steal & market your “data….”)
Yep. In addition to whomever is buying your purchase history, FB is straight up sharing it with Yandex. No thanks.
Completed a purchase of a $10 Google Play GC with CIC to try to see if any chance the MCC tracks. Ill update when it posts.
Okay. It codes as “Office & shipping” through FACEBK -DAILY STEALS and does NOT earn bonus points on CIC.
I only see a 10% discount for all denominations of both Google Play and Apple iTunes gift cards.
iTunes $10 -> $8 is the only 20% one I think.
