Fetch To Launch American Express Card Powered By Imprint (10x, Really Under 1% Earning)

Fetch has announced it will be launching Fetch American Express® Card, powered by Imprint in the Fall. Card basics:

  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 10x points per $1 spent on retail and grocery
    • 5x points on all other purchases
    • Earn extra points in high-value categories that change each month
  • No annual fee
  • No sign up bonus, but “point bonuses” for hitting key checkpoints (image shows 3,000 points after making your first purchase)
  • Expanded access to spin and win (non cardholders have access to this, so it’s unclear what the expanded access actually is)

Our Verdict

Earning 10x points sounds great, but a $50 Amazon giftcard costs 55,000 points so that is actually an earning rate under 1% back. Lower value gift cards are even worse at 0.08 per point. This card is an easy pass, although I am sure it will sucker a few people.

I use Fetch to scan receipts but it’s on and off and I enjoy getting a gift card here and there. I don’t point pinch the rewards as much as I would with my amex points. However, this card looks useless. Nope.

Imprint is terrible, and they force you to upload your ID and bank statements when you apply for a card.

William Charles You used to cover cards that were less than mainstream. One that I came across which is somewhat interested are the cards from Bread. Maybe review those?

I love how they couldn’t even do a flat 1% (10x) on everything. They could only give you that on retail and grocery. Wouldn’t want people going too crazy!

Sketchy company. I was using Fetch to scan receipts years ago. Got tired of it and contacted their customer service to delete my account and data – they refused.

Who do they think they are? Once IHG, Hilton, and Marriott get a whiff of this they’ll pull them into a dark alley and explain that the land of absurdly low point values with good looking lipstick is theirs, and theirs alone
