Sorry. Previous offer was for US Bank Cash+ credit card. Got confused because both Fidelity Rewards and US Bank Cash+ credit cards are managed by Elan Financial Services.

My bonus received is 2,500 points bonus max. I received the email this morning from email.fidelityrewards.com. I came here to get additional info on what exactly counts as “online purchases”, but I think the details are not out yet from the crowds.

Someone mentioned that BofA Cash Rewards earns 3% on ALL online purchases, but this is not true. For the BofA card is it intended for online shopping and there are broad exclusions for utility, insurance, medical, government (like department of motor vehicles). No word on whether this is also included with this promo, but it won’t hurt to try. Just don’t complain if your electricity bill doesn’t trigger 3%. There’s enough time (until July 15) to determine what works and what doesn’t.

the “key” word in post below is “our” purchases from online sites selling certain items. If you read this site you should know that utilities give 5% with other cards/insurance gets more the 2% with other cards. So does motor vehicles. Research is needed. I would not use BOA cash rewards cards for those items.

If you have BOA cash rewards cards..you definitely get 3% for ANY online purchase. Up to 2500/q. Definitely works on “our” online purchases. And 1 point posts 2 days after purchase other 2 post when monthly bill closes. Works all the time. No guessing.

Not true. This is disclosed by BofA that the 3% is meant for online shopping and not simply for any online purchase. They specifically exclude broad categories like medical, insurance, utility, government, etc.

Found this targeted offer in Outlook “Junk”. Anyone know why? All other Fidelity email is sorted correctly.

I’m guessing the email came from Elan Bank rather than from the Fidelity brokerage.

Very vague about what will count. Takeout, grocery delivery and streaming, for which most of us already have good offers. Would be useful if all “card not present” charges got the bonus. Not going to see bonus points for 60-90 days so can’t really test if things like online electricity payments will work.
