The Fidelity 2% Visa card from Elan is sending out a targeted ongoing spend offer. Offers are
- Spend $xx amount [insert amount like $350, $2,900, $4,400, $6,200, whatever] and all spend beyond that will get an extra 1 point per dollar for a total earn of 3% back instead of the standard 2%
The Fine Print
- Promotion period is from August 1, 2018, through September 30, 2018.
- Must enroll in this promotion by August 31, 2018.
Our Verdict
They send these out a few times per year. How good the offer is will depend on how much you need to spend before the 3% kicks in. Readers usually report getting the actual bonus is very slow or doesn’t happen at all with manual intervention so need to add that level of hassle to deciding if it’s worth it.

As a valued Fidelity® Rewards Visa Signature® Cardmember, you’re eligible to earn up to an additional 2,000 Bonus Points during the holidays! It’s simple. Just use your card during the 2-month promotion period from November 1 through December 31, 2018. Be sure to enroll in the offer by November 30.¹
I received this offer a few days ago. This is my daily card.

Spend $2,500 and additional purchases will be earn 1 bonus point (up to $2,000 bonus point).
Threshold is $800, making it a 2.72% card, except I have BoA Premium Rewards at 2.625% for a no mess solution.
My threshold is $5,300. That sucks.
This is the card that some guy keep spamming on this site, isn’t it?
The post says:
“Spend $xx … and all spend beyond that will get an extra 1 point per dollar for a total earn of 3% back …”
What does the “up to $20 bonus” mean in the title? Does this actually become a 3% card until the promotional period ends?
Kinda sucks for me. I need to spend $1.8K first before the bonus 1 point kicks in. Oh well. I mean 4 x $500 VGCs will kick start the bonus.
My threshold is $100. My question is if I spend $120 on my first purchase, do I earn 20 bonus points, or the bonus starts from the next purchase?
No dude. Cmon man. After you spend the $100, you have to spend another $2K to get the full 2,000 point bonus. If you just spend another $20 in spending you will only get a 20 point bonus which is like $0.20.
Offer received via email, $50 threshold. Probably will take advantage of this.
Bonuses are often capped.
Bonuses are serfdom paid before 60 days after the end of the promotion period.
