This requires you to 1) Create a send me a sample account 2) Link it to Alexa and 3) enable the “send me a sample” skill. Otherwise it just responds “hmm I don’t know that one” None of that is mentioned.

There’s a missing word here – you actually need to say “ASK Send Me a Sample of Dunkin’ Shot in the Dark”… The ask part is what triggers the function to create a profile for the sample sending service.
I did try your method and it at least let me know it was a skill but as my comment above shows it required more for me to get it working.
