FREE Hotel Rooms for New Year’s Eve! by Magic of Miles. Interesting competition, citizenM is giving away 500 free rooms for two nights in New York, London, Amsterdam, Rotterdam & Glasgow. You basically preregister, then on October 30th the first 500 people to click will get the free rooms.
I Hate Making Some New Discoveries by Chasing The Points. If it’s the store I think, it’s not abusable but I totally agree. Discoveries like this suck, I usually just e-mail them to let them know about the issue (although sometimes then you get cranky e-mails asking how you know it’s possible in the first place, which is why mine are always anonymous even though I didn’t do anything wrong).
A 23-year-old Google employee lives in a truck in the company’s parking lot and saves 90% of his income by Business Insider. This is obviously easier to do when you work at a place like Google where your office is actually a nice space to spend time in (and shower/eat). I know of a few people that have done this just with gym memberships and they loved it for the first 12 months and then hated it. Not a bad idea for somebody who is young, single and lives in an area with high incomes and rental properties.
World Series Tickets by Mile Nerd. Don’t think these will go cheaply and would prefer to save my SPG points, but I know how crazy some of you are for baseball.
