How To Get Gold Status With MGM
A lot of readers will be able to easily get gold status with MGM and thus get matched to this bonus. Here’s how:
Unfortunately the M Life credit card only gives you Pearl Status, not enough to get this match.
The Fine Print
- Complimentary room is based on availability and must be used within 90 days of Black Label upgrade.
- Management reserves the right to change or cancel program.
- A free stay is actually just a single free night
Getting The Match
You need to visit Borgata in person to receive this match. Apparently you don’t need your physical M Life card (this isn’t sent to you when you do a match from Hyatt status, you need to get one printed in person).
Our Verdict
Expiry on the free night is pretty strict and having to go in person is a real pain, but free is free so you can’t really complain. Apparently this has been around for awhile, but e-mails just went out to M Life rewards members that are eligible for the match.
Hat tip to /r/churning
Since Borgata is being assumed my MLife (June finalized probably) I wanted to highlight this match. The bonus slot dollars should not be overlooked here. Done right they can be cashed for real money and if you bring two or three people that’s a free weekend with $300 and 3 meals free food and top shelf drinks in their elite Amphora lounge. That’s assuming your slot money doesn’t net you a bonus win in excess of your freebie! This is not a terrible deal for one of the finest hotels around.
I called MGM/mlife today – they confirmed that physical mlife cards must be obtained at an MGM property, and cannot be mailed
So likely that those who matched Hyatt > mlife will need to visit an MGM location to receive a physical mlife card, then visit the Borgata to follow-through with this promotion
Some people didn’t need to show physical card at Borgata, YMMV.
Will be in AC Sat. nite 8/13/16. Wife is Gold & I’m Platinum Mlife from Hyatt match. We do not have Mlife cards due to match over the internet. Have to go to Mlife hotel to get the cards. Hoping we can show our accounts on our phones. We’ve never had any Borgata cards so we’ll both get the full 1st time benefits if this works. Have fingers crossed. $200 & 2 nites would be awesome.
Keep in mind that this is only for “new” members of Borgata’s rewards program. I was denied the benefits for “new” members when I tried to get matched to black label — I was already a Borgata rewards member, but had never been black label. I read up on different gaming forums, and seems people have had varying experiences with this (mostly similar to mine).
Its pretty clear guys. This promo is useless if youre NOT going to NJ anytime soon or dont live close by to enjoy the casino. Thats it. Sometimes the MS thinking cap clouds your judgement…
Have to fly Spirit to Atlantic City too 🙁
Have to match in person and the free night expires in 90 days. Does it mean most likely I have to travel to the hotel twice within 90 days to make use of this offer?
Borgata has been offering Black Label status matches based upon your M Life status for quite some time, well before MGM took 100% ownership of the property (previously they were in a 50/50 partnership with Boyd Gaming). This isn’t really new news.
Like I said in the post: “Apparently this has been around for awhile, but e-mails just went out to M Life rewards members that are eligible for the match.”
It’s the first I’d heard of it and thought it was worth a post.
