The Fine Print
- $20 coupon will print on receipt and be valid for a future shopping trip. Coupon expires 12/5/19.
- Limit 1 offer per transaction.
- Must use your store card at checkout to be eligible.
- The following gift cards are not eligible: Giant/Stop&shop gift cards, Visa gift cards, Mastercard gift cards, reloadable gift cards. (Amex gift cards not excluded?)
Our Verdict
Nice that they are running this for a few weeks – perfect for holiday gifting! We’re hearing that most Stop&Shop locations will have the $20 deal and Giant will have the 5x deal; not sure about Martin’s. Often, even within the same chain, different stores can run different offers, so check your local circular to verify.
Pretty awesome deal for top-valued gift cards to places like Amazon, Uber, Home Depot, Starbucks, iTunes, Best Buy, etc. Sounds like you can do multiple $100 gift card purchases in separate transactions and get a $20 voucher from each one. You may have to use the $20 vouchers in separate checkouts, one per grocery checkout.
Use a card that earns bonus rewards at the grocery. There’s also a digital coupon for $10 off $50 in Happy gift cards which might be able to stack with this deal.

DON’T BUY SHELL GIFT CARDS FROM THEM! Shell gift cards work with this deal but I bought total of 10 shell $50 gift cards (total of $500) with 5 separate transactions from 11/08 to 11/14, and all of the gift cards that I have are used in CA. I live in MA and I bought them in MA. I got $0 balance on all of them. I called them, and they said I need to file a dispute about it in order to get my money back. It is not even guaranteed. This happened to me once before for $50 gift card last year and they were able to reissue a new one to me. However this is a large amount so I don’t know what will happen. Worst case scenario I will file a dispute with my cc company since it hasn’t even been 15 days yet. I just want you to know; don’t buy it!
does anyone know how to dispose of these top valued gc’s without having to actually spend the money for stuff. examples: venmo, money order purchase, cash app, return to store.
when you redeem these $20 coupons for groceries, please don’t do it at self checkout because it won’t work properly, use the human checkout.

Did not work in Hartford County CT on Amazon GCs. I bought a $100 Amazon GC and nothing printed out but the cashier said it was a glitch in their system and customer service will give me it np so I bought a second $100 GC in a second transaction.
I went to customer service with the two $100 GCs and the representative said he would not help and it was only for the pictured GCs in the ad. I explained it says and others and then lists what is excluded, but he said Amazon isn’t part of it and would not refund me the $100 GCs.
I had to begin calling AMEX on the spot (to deny payment) in order to get him to assist. Ultimately, the store manager had him give me a $40 Stop & Shop GC.
Did you enter your stop and shop info or just bought the info without it?
If you just bought the gift cards straight out, no coupons will print
Oh wow I totally forgot about it now that you mention it. Thank you, that was likely the issue as I’m used to self checkout and the cashier never asked for my card/phone number.
Can confirm amazon gc work. Each transaction needs to be done separately. Last time around you were able to do multiple on one receipt.
Maybe it works for less.

“these participating cards (these pictured and more)” doesn’t sound like “all gift cards.” Can someone confirm it’s actually valid for all third-party cards?
I just purchased two $100 amazon gift cards, in two separate transactions at two different stop & shops in northern NJ, and both receipts printed out with the $20 shopping voucher. Both transactions were under the same stop & shop loyalty card as well. I guess this can be considered a data point for both:
1) More than one transaction per loyalty card (it has always been 10 per loyalty card in the past).
2) At least Amazon is included despite not being in the pictured ad.

To elaborate on Chuck’s last sentence, this can probably be stacked with a Happy card deal Stop and Shop is running through 11/13. They have digital coupons for $10 off your grocery purchase when you buy $50 worth of various Happy cards. Cards are Teen, Dining, Bride, Student, Beauty, Her, and Eats. Bride, Student, and Her include Bed Bath and Beyond, where in certain stores I’ve had no problem using Happy cards to buy third party gift cards. The BB&B’s around here don’t have a big selection of third party gift cards, but they usually have eBay.
Here’s how to do it: Load the coupons to your card. Buy two different $50 Happy cards (say Bride and Student) and $20 worth of groceries. You should end up getting $20 off your bill and you’ll also get a $20 coupon for your next shopping trip.
T&C for the Happys say it cannot be combined with other offers, but YMMV. Anyone try it yet?

How do you load the Happy gift card coupon onto my Stop & Shop card. I’m looking at my local weekly ad circular and cannot find it (North NJ).
