20% off at random stores isn’t too interesting, but Google Express has stores of Walmart, Target, Costco, and so many more on their system. Most people will have some groceries or staple items they need making this deal an easy one to use.
Note, you can only use one promo code per order, so this won’t stack with a new user bonus or any other sort of Google Express promo code you have. Just picked up a Xbox one Bluetooth controller new for $33 after taxes from Walmart, thanks for the heads up.
Says it expires Feb 28.
It lets me apply code discount in-app, but then when I use “Place Order” I get an error, saying there is an issue with card or trying to use code more than once. I certainly didn’t make an order yet with the code, so puzzling. Tried re-entering credit card since I entered it new as a second card option.
Strange! Instead of the new Amex I added, I reselected the MasterCard already in there, and that worked. As I said, I rechecked and readded the Amex twice, but it would not check out with it. It is a new card, but it was used successfully already elsewhere.
Anyone have issues with Amex in the Google Express app?
Tried it again with a small test Costco order with the Amex (no promo code) and it worked this time.
I did do a minor system update on my phone before the reattempt so perhaps it was a bug fix that affected this.
Would anyone happen to know if this works on gift card purchases?

I’ve been getting my google express Costco orders same day if I place the order by 10:00 am.
When the dust settles after 20% off + tax and inflated google express prices, I’m saving about 4-5% for Costco stuff I’d buy anyways. Heavy and bulky items Delivered directly to my front door.

Typo, fixed
Personally I love to use Google Express for heavy items (i.e. sparkling water). My experience has been that the order ships the next day and arrives within a couple days, but that might just be because everything was in stock at my local store or something, so YMMV.
Price has been comparable but a slight markup before the discount, so afterwards it ends up being slightly less.
