Keep in mind you need to activate it on Google Fi within 30 days of phone shipment, so won’t be able to resell this unfortunately. If you’re new to Google Fi The standard best bonus is $20 when you use a referral link, the person signing you up gets $100 (you can find a referral there).

I’ve been using Google (formerly Project) Fi for about 3 years now and have been happy with it. I don’t use a lot of data, so it’s cost-effective for me.

My husband’s employer reimburses up to $100/month for cell phone bills, and with Google Fi our monthly bill is about $70. My husband jumped at this upgrade offer, and he’s going with the monthly payment (about $34/month). That way his employer is covering most of the cost of a new phone.

I would caution everyone against using Google Fi for your service provider. I have had nothing but issues with them – loss of coverage, dead zones, constant sending of duplicate texts, incredibly low quality media sharing (we’re talking 240p). And the kicker? I’ve had 6 replacement phones for the same known issue on the Pixel 2.

Stay away. Stay far away.

After activating the phone on Fi, how long do you need to stay before you can cancel? It seems like you could activate the phone for just a month, then quit and keep the phone at the discounted price.

This is not correct. For this deal you only have to activate. You can cancel anytime. So, we are looking at $20 min.

No, you can easily activate and pause right after. Or you can wait a day for the safe side.

I currently have the Pixel 2 XL w/ Fi, so with trade in it was about $200 to upgrade. I was originally going to wait for the 4, but @ that price I couldn’t pass it up!

Change the color of the phone you want. I got the black in 64GB.

Ya know, you don’t have to purchase it, right? DOC doesn’t obligate you to make purchases for reading the free columns/tips. He and William are nice that way! 😉

That doesn’t mean he can’t voice his opinion about how good a deal is or isn’t in the comments. Maybe have some people who would’ve jumped on it think twice about it and make a more informed decision. That’s why there are comments in the first place: help others and discuss a deal (which unfortunately neither your comment or mine are doing…).
