Groupon+: 20% Cashback At Starbucks

The Offer

Direct link to offer (our affiliate link, thanks for supporting the site)

  • Groupon+ is offering 20% cash back at Starbucks. The offer lasts for one week after you click claim (not sure how long it’ll be possible to click claim for)

The Fine Print

  • Limit of $1 cash back per transaction
  • Limited to in-store purchases only. No online purchases
  • Only valid for purchases at Starbucks company operated locations
  • Purchases using the Starbucks mobile app not eligible

Our Verdict

For those not familiar Groupon+ is Groupons new card linked loyalty program. Seems loads via the app are working to trigger the cash back so your best option would be to load $5 to get exactly $1 back (offer can be used multiple times), just keep in mind these are excluded in the fine print so possibility of a claw back. AmEx also has an offer for 15% cash back for Starbucks, unfortunately American Express cards do not work with Groupon+.

Groupon+ has gone missing from my app in Philly. While it was there there were only about a half dozen places deep in the burbs. If I search for starbucks I don’t find it.

Too much work to save $1. Time to open a bank acct and get $200.

This may only be for the Chicago area Starbucks?

Rabid fan here. Worked for me. You should update the post that the 20% discount is only for a week (I signed up today, and it expires 9/26). Already have a 15% discount with a couple Amex cards (that goes until the end of September), so can now hit multiple cards hard.

If you try to reload the Starbucks card via app or online, the min amount is $10.
If it works with $10, you would get a $1, which would be a 10% off.
Maybe we can try to buy a $5 gift card at the Starbucks store and see if it works with it.

No. The app asks for any amount $25, $50, Other. If you click on ‘Other’, the lowest amount is $10.
If you go on the Starbucks website, it looks like you can enter any amount, but if you type $5, it will tell you that the minimum is $10.

But I don’t know it. Igor below said that it worked for him … so I am a bit confused.

Doesn’t it say that you can’t use the app?

Thanks. Just in time for my S/O on our trip to SEA in 7 days. My debit card from my credit union has offers of which Starbucks is common. It too has a 10% promo meaning that for each time that I buy a gift card in-store it would be 30% off. Either I will buy $5 or $10 gift cards and reload my S/O’s Starbucks card.

yeah you can easily just keep buying $5 GCs in store and then add it to your account and transfer the balances around to combine them

Did you reload the card? On the website or app? How much did you reload?

If I try to enter ‘$5’ as amount, it replies:

“Amount must be between $10.00 and $100.00**”

I wonder what I do wrong. I tried both app and web.
