Update 8/20/18: Deal is back through September 27th. Updated link below and some minor details.

Groupon has a card-link dining program where you can get cash back onto your credit card by linking a card and then using that card at hundreds of restaurants. By claiming this Groupon, you’ll get $3 on your linked card and 20% for subsequent transactions within the next 14 days.

- Cash back is awarded in form of statement credits
- Most Visa and Mastercard cards are eligible for cash back, see FAQ for details
- Debit cards must be run as credit to qualify for cash back
- Deal is subject to Groupon+ Deals Terms
Our Verdict
The $3 freebie is nice, and the subsequent 10% off also sounds like a good deal. Groupon is one of many card-link programs; I didn’t check all the rates, but I imagine 10% back is the best you’ll get.
Hat tip to SD
Still alive on 9/28 even though it still says expires 9/27
has anyone tried multiple accounts/cards?
Got 2 free drinks, one for signing up in the app AND if you put your birthday 5 days or more after your sign up date you get a free drink that day as well, i got the 3$ refund the same day so double bonus
Yes, loading $10 via Masterpass definitely triggers the $3 Cash Back. Just did it successfully too.
It DOES work on the mobile app. I just bought a $3 GC from the mobile app, and it tracked instantly (got the Groupon email). Then I merged the balance into my other existing Dunkin cards. This is the same thing I did back in March this year when the same deal was around.
How did you buy a $3 GC? My app shows a $5 minimum.
This should technically stack with the Masterpass $5 Free with $10 reload deal no?
I’ll give it a shot tomorrow. When this deal was around before it did work with reloading on the app for me.
DP: it stacked. I used website, reloaded $10 via Masterpass and got confirmation of Groupon + reward $3 back, and my card balance is showing $15 extra.
Yep, stacked through the website for my SO and I also.
Worked for me as well with the app
This just worked for me. Thanks for the idea.
In the fine print it says now that it expires on September 27, 2018.
What I’ve been doing is every time I go into DD, I’ve been buying a $30 gift card (which gets me the $3 max rebate), then using the app to buy my drink to get the DD points (2x right now for mobile) in order to triple dip (groupon, CSR, DD points). This of course means that I will have a nice stockpile of DD credit at 10% off to use for the next few months. (Of course, don’t do this for the first purchase, that one should be just buy something off the menu to get the full $3 as 100% return)
I’m pretty satisfied with this deal. This is what I did: download the app, create an account, load $3 to my card/app (with the credit card linked to Groupon; this IS the purchase). Instantly got the confirmation from Groupon. You get a free drink credit when you download the app. I went to DD in person, got a bagel with cream cheese and a large macchiato. Had them scan the free drink code, then paid for the bagel with the remaining credit. It came to exactly $3 after tax. Heads up, I was not able to mobile order using the free drink code unless I had enough credit to cover the cost, so that’s why I had to do it in person. All in all, a nice breakfast for free that otherwise would have been over $7.
The $3 has not been credited back to me yet, but it’s only been 2 days. I’ll update if for some reason I don’t get it. But as I said, I did get the confirmation email from Groupon.
Yes, send yourself a $3 gift card.
