I used to love going to Carl’s Jr when I lived in California. Here in Virginia Hardee’s is just not the same even though technically it is.

Yes, this is usually the case for any retailer with very rare exceptions.
I have never had any problems using a gift card and a Carls Jr coupon. I usually tell them I plan on paying with a gift card first so they can make sure to select it as tender and then I select gift card on credit card swipe pin pad and swipe it. I know one time randomly the location I was visiting was having trouble accepting gift cards so I couldn’t use it then but it worked on a different visit. * It Happened one time visiting a franchise Del Taco. The gift card works on the registers inside the counter but was having trouble on the drive-thru register so I would call that situation a fluke.
