Speaking of getting me in the door, thanks also for the alert on the Safeway M/C deal. Found myself yesterday passing through a safeway town — and thought to load their app, get a new account, and then download the $15 off two $100 mcgc coupon…. Took less time than it’s taking me to tpe this — a money maker too — even before the Amex 6%. 🙂

my offer was in my weekly email from harris teeter under digital coupons tab or something like that. i activated my offers.
so 5 $100 GCs will cost ~505.
regularly, a variable load $500 GC costs ~506.
so this is minimal upside, except perhaps fuel rewards earned.
Right. I feel like I am missing why people care about this deal. Same cost as just buying the variables with the added hassle of trying to find a way to unload a bunch of $100 cards.
I’m in Greensboro, NC. I tested trying to earn fuel rewards on variable load visas. Doesn’t work. I, too, can buy variable $500s at self checkout
my HT online coupon says limit 5 with VIC card for each of these 3 deals.
anyone know if i can buy 5 at one HT then go buy 5 more at another store?
For these “add to your card” coupons, their system is pretty good at catching/enforcing limits based on my experience w/ grocery items.

Yes basically using a card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases and then unloading the GC
Most Harris Teeter’s (5 out of 5 I’ve checked) don’t allow purchasing gift cards with credit card, so deal is kinda useless 🙁
The one in my area has no problem with it. Buy $1500 through self check out several times a week.
The variable load types or fixed dollar?
Interesting. Maybe self check out would work. Last year they issued a corporate policy banning cc sales of gift cards and I have been no longer able to do it. I’ll have to try this.
I can buy up to $3K at a time just need manager override. but HT lets you buy up to $2K inclusive of fees at self checkout

Intestingly enough, as brought up in a prior DOC post, I saw my first 4X fuel points at myers park HT the other day (ran on a limited selection of GC thru 3/26), but Sedgefield knew nothing of promo which perplexed the staff.
It’d be more lucrative if the discounts also worked on $500 or variable-load Visa/MC gift cards, but my local HTs don’t carry Visa/MC gift cards that are higher than $100.

I bought a $500 variable load visa card today and there was no discount. I made sure to add the $25, $50, and $100 discount coupons online.
