All these data breaches make me wonder if these start up websites open business just to harvest these valuable fully verified customer data and sell it on the dark web. Why else would they pay $50 or even $80 thru various cashback sites to open an account and buy their stuff for free. After the data breach all they do is send out an email that roughly translates to “Hey,we have sold your data to hackers. All the best dealing with them. Thanks for falling for our cashback ploy and then giving us your name, DOB, Credit card, email and home address. It was fun while it lasted. Meet you again on another cashback site.” Are they not accountable for the data breach? Shouldn’t they be doing something for the customers to deal with this ?

I use the same password on websites that does not have my banking or credit card information (for the most part). It’s just a stupid password that I never thought having it out in the public will hurt me. Well, I had that same password used on a couple of sites that stored my payment information, one of which was Grub Hub. I was one day charged for a $400 feast from Denny’s. What can you buy from Denny’s for that much is beyond me! It took months to clear it out with Grub Hub and the credit card company.

Hopefully the culprit died of cholesterol poisoning.

I like it when my cards are hacked and the thieves go for experiences rather than goods.

Made me smile when I a saw a unauthorized charge from Panama for meal at a chicken joint and a movie down the street. I hope they had fun.

Got this email. Going to see if I can file a claim under the CA privacy law. Time to hold these companies accountable

Anyone else who got a breach notice see an uptick of text spam? I started getting a bunch of text messages this week, not sure if it was just a coincidence or related..

Another one. Ridiculous. On the page that shows how to reset your password the link to their own website isn’t even right. What a bunch of morons.
